True, but coaching marriages are a little different. Also I think I remember reading that Kiffen's wife helped close the deal because she was uneasy about the move at first.

Maybe, but for the kind of careers they both have, some flexibility is necessary... I would imagine his salry foots the bills for her showbiz aspirations....

The bad part about this is if Tee turns this offer down many posters on here will see it as an opportunity to jump on Jones. I give him serious credit for making the offer to connect to our tradition over one of his own guys that I am sure he feels is very capable.

Agreed. Jones did what he wanted to do. Can't fault him if Tee doesn't come.

Remember Rodney Gardner's wife is from the Athens Georgia area and she was the one that pushed for him to take the UGA job in 1999. Also, when Kiffin offered him a job in Knoxville, his wife convinced him to remain in Athens, close to her family.

You do realize the Charlie Strong's wife told him the other day that for some reason the U.T. job didn't seem right? He ended up not taking the job.

You do realize the Gabe Wright is from Columbus Georgia and his mother and girl friend convinced him to go to Auburn, which is close to home, rather than to U.T.?

I doudt Tee's wife will want to come to Knoxville...career wise...

Say what you want Gabe went to AU because of Trooper.Coach's are on the road so much I doubt it effects her, especially knowing its his Alma Mater. Plus she has only been out there less than a yr so its not like she had been there 5+ yrs pursuing a career. Just dont see that being a factor.

Agree! The negavols will keep posting while recruits and players read about Vol fans.

How will this effect Tee's legacy here and how will most fans view him if he tells us no? I know most were proud that Graham left a more stable program and the best RB in the country to come back to his alma mater. Tee has a tough decision to make.

Whether he comes here or not, Tee will always be one of the most beloved players in UT history. He was a humble and likeable guy that played a key role in winning UT a national title. He has a lot of good will built up.

I think he comes back if he's offered more responsibilities and more money. QB/WR coach/Recruiting coordinator? Some combination of job titles would lure him moreso than a lateral move.
