Would be an awesome hire in more ways than one. Jones knows he's got coaches who can already coach WRs, so he can give Tee a different position to diversity his skill set without sacrificing too much for offense. At the same time, it's the most marketable hire of his staff and he can send out Graham and Martin as the real recruiting stars. Talk about great ambassadors for the program. They could sell many, many kids on the TN dream. Lastly, it shows the blitzkrieg that Jones can accomplish when he sets his mind. Serious hires have been made very fast and Jones didn't hesitate for one second to bring in his Cincinnati guys while still holding true to his word to bring in great recruiters. There appears to be real balance between scheme guys and recruiters. This could prove to be a great combo and truly a great staff. Maybe not, but it's impressive thus far.

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but i'm excited by this hire because it will go a long way (I would imagine) to helping to improve many of the problems with in-state recruiting. With two UT legends recruiting in the state, we can take steps towards locking down local recruits without expending much of the budget and time in the process.

Jones has already gotten off on right foot in 3 areas that DD didn't get 1. In state recruiting. 2. Reaching out to fanbase (social media, etc- reminds me of 2005 Bruce Pearl) 3. Reaching out to former Vols and others steeped in history of program.

These are 3 very big steps imo, because they show that even though Jones is confident, he isn't arrogant and humble enough to do what matters here. He gets it, or seems to. If Martin is confirmed to staff, then it's just another step in right direction.

Yes. UT hired Jones to start off next season, so if UT loses to Oregon, Florida, and UGA; Gruden sweeps in and saves the day and gets to avoid some possible losses. Most elaborate smokescreen ever imo.

Agreed! When Jones was hired I said look for 2 early critical indicators.

1.) What kind of staff he puts together.

2.) Where we end up in recruiting in February.

It looks like he's passing the first indicator with flying colors. Lets see how we finish in recruiting. Considering how low we are ranked right now, anywhere in the top 15 would be a heck of a turnaround.
