Tee Martin - what is happening now.

I have no desire to live in LA.....the traffic, pollution etc. Sure maybe a visit one day, but east tennessee is paradise to me. Absolutely love the smokies. East tennessee is my home away from home and I wished I lived there. I envy you people that do.

Think Butch Jones is going after him just because the fans are asking him to?

I think it may have some to do with it. I want Tee to come home but im not going to bytch and moan if he doesnt. There are a lot of great WR coaches out there.

It would be the best PR move that coach Jones could make though and thats ok too.

If he doesnt come I think it will be because USC does some serious deal sweetening.

I want Tee here, but if he doesn't want to be here, we'll be just fine without him

I think it is Butch Jones trying to come to UT's fan base with arms wide open. I mean it was just some silly question asked his press conference. I seriously doubt he had put that much thought into Tee. I'm guessing he is trying to get something the fans want, seeing as it has been made clear to him that he was 3rd or lower on UT's list.

Matter of opinion

You have to look at it from the perspective of a girl from St Louis. What's more appealing, a city of over 3.5 million with Rodeo Drive or a city of 175 K with Turkey Creek? I don't know anything about her outside of a quick Google search so this may be an unfair generalization, but she strikes me as the LA type much more than the East TN type.

For the record I too love East TN. I couldn't care less about shopping and would rather go to the mountains than the beach any day. The idea of 70 degree year round weather would be hard to beat though.

The beaches in la are cold. Not much for normal swimming. The city is nice in the wealthy areas but two hundred k in la is not the wealthy area.

I just saw a rumor get started right here in this thread.

you guys are funny.

Tee is just taking his time and doing things the right way like an adult and with class. he has a family to consider and a son in school. There is a lot for him to talk with them about.

Doesn't bode well for his character, although its just one day. It certainly is perplexing if he does turn the job down since he has been vocal about wanting to "come home".

edit... in reply to a post in reply to this...

my reply:
first of all he didn't parade his family or ask for fanfare, you need to get a grip on reality and stop looking for anything bad you can whine about.

PS. this is what happens when you have people on ignore haha.

I think its more than just trying to give the fans something they want.

I think its about trying to heal a divided fanbase and give them some hope. I think its about getting a damn good recruiter and coach at the same time.

its a real win win for CBJ and us if it works out and shows that CBJ is a lot smarter than most.

siap Tee and Toya had another baby boy earlier this year named Cannon. He is destined to be a great QB with that name. Sounds like Toya's signing career is at a standstill right now so I doubt that will be much of a factor. Toya had a billboard top 20 hit back in 2001 called "I do" but the album flopped and her label dropped her. Looks like she's been mostly a backup singer since then. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Have you ever been faced with a decision about making a move for a job and uprooting your family?

But what bothers me is that when he left NM and went to Kentucky and then to USC the press reported that had UT offered he would have come. But now, an offer is not enough, it seems like. He called out UT through the press when he had interest and was not hired, now he's about to do a 180? It bothers me some but not to the point of going nuts on him on social media like I know many people will.

I can honestly say I'm one of about 3 fans that just doesn't care whether he comes or not. I think he'd be a nice addition to the staff, but I just don't get so wrapped in nostalgia that I need him to come back.

The fanbase is borderline doing with Tee Martin what they did with Jon Gruden - building him up as the one and only guy that can do the job.

Honestly, I'm in the same boat as you. Yes, he's a UT legend, and yes he's a proven WR coach and recruiter. But by no means is he the only person that would be successful here.
