Tee Martin to remain USC assistant - Yahoo! Sports

''At the end of the day, I am a man of my word. I promised Coach Kiffin when I was hired at USC that I had goals I wanted to accomplish here. We still have work to do here to reach those goals. I see a great future at USC with the players on our roster and the recruits we have coming in."

While I do think this one kind of deserves it's own thread, there are 20 others that could be merged.

Just trying to make Tee look as bad as possible? Maybe you should consider edited your post. Below is the entire statement not cut and pasted to try and make Tee look bad.

"I was very honored to be offered a position on Coach Jones' Tennessee staff," Martin said in a statement released by the school. "I truly believe he will do an outstanding job with the Vols program. My decision to remain at USC was the toughest I have ever had to make because Tennessee is such a special place to me.

"I have so much love and respect for Tennessee. But at this time, the right decision was to continue at USC and I am looking forward to doing that."

Not my intention to make him look bad, nor is this meant to be a negavol thread. I found an actual written explanation and wanted to post it, that is all. If I wanted to make him look bad I wouldn't have supplied the link to the article where you can read the whole thing.

I see Kiffin bungling the season again next year, and getting fired. That's a fine goal, indeed. May UCLA play Rocky Top next year after they beat your Condoms again.

Maybe so but your link clearly shows the complete statement why not post all of it?

It's way past that point already.

Tee Martin to remain USC assistant - Yahoo! Sports

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Southern California wide receivers coach Tee Martin said Tuesday that he'll remain at the school instead of returning to Tennessee to join new Vols coach Butch Jones' staff.
Martin, the former quarterback who led Tennessee to the 1998 national title, is in his first season on Trojans coach Lane Kiffin's staff.

''I was very honored to be offered a position on Coach Jones' Tennessee staff,'' Martin said in a statement posted on school's website. ''I truly believe he will do an outstanding job with the Vols program. My decision to remain at USC was the toughest I have ever had to make because Tennessee is such a special place to me.

''At the end of the day, I am a man of my word. I promised Coach Kiffin when I was hired at USC that I had goals I wanted to accomplish here. We still have work to do here to reach those goals. I see a great future at USC with the players on our roster and the recruits we have coming in.

And that's ok but he had made that promise before he made a trip to Tenn; therefore, being a man of his word he knew before hand that he wasn't going to accept a job here. If he respects Tenn that much he could have declined the job before making a big news splash and further emberassing the Vols. IMO just more of Kiffen's media play crap

He had enough love for UT that he came here to see what was here for him. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Nothing. Your opinion is stupid.

The link is there so you can read the whole thing if you want. It won't make a bit of difference if you post the whole article or just the reason Tee stayed at USC.

Oh so he came here just to check and make sure he is a man if his word? Seems that you are the stupid one

Have you ever been in a situation where a school you love contacts you to pull you away from a job you have invested yourself in?

What is your point. The point here is that he knew before hand that he wasn't coming. That's fine and I have no ill will gor T. But it was handled in a way that was ebbrassing to the University that he is suppossed to love. Now that's imply isn't respectful to the Vols and has Kiffen written all over it!

Interesting...

He's a man of his word and keeps his promise to a guy whose not a man of his word and doesn't keep his promises.

Hopefully he just wanted another year of vacationing in LA because I wouldn't get my hopes on being there any longer that. It's going to take at least 9 wins if not double digits for Lane to be retained. No way they keep Lane with back to back seasons of 7 and 8 wins.

Lets stop this! CBJ never wanted him. This is all theater.
Jones wanted his people, but this made him look like he was on the fans side to get Tee.
