"Tell me A Story: Derek Dooley"

Why does he automatically now have to be a bad person? Seems kind of simpleminded . . . like a guy trying to rationalize how bad his ex-girlfriend was.

Plenty of us were telling people how much of a jerk he was for a long time. Ask a former player how much they liked him. Ask Eric Berry, for instance.

He was a jerk, plain and simple, but too many were caught up in the baloney of "I'll support "our" coach no matter what" and failed to see what was plainly out there. In fact, those who now want us to "move on" are the same ones who were loudly pushing for us to support Dooley, give him another year, etc. and want to move on in order to make us forget their idiocy.

Answering questions:
1. Best of Knoxville Winner for Men's Barber Shop
2. Story about the way he treated the coaches in Chatt and N Georgia is what made me start this post today. Ridiculous.
3. Butler and Baileys- he went in and told the butcher guy he was cutting the meat all wrong, that he didnt know how to get the cuts of meat right. He went off on him!
4. The The Tony Basilio Show website has the archives of the wed show. Honestly, it was funny.
5. Big Will's story about he and Brandon Warren and Will (former Golden Gloves Boxer) in Dool's face and both pointing fingers and having to be separated was classic as well!
6. Someone stated why just now coming out? Many of these stories have been heard shared previously.

He shot my dog, stole the wheels off my trailer, ran off with my wife and took the pickup truck. I'll miss that pick up.

So... this would be more fun if we kept to real stories and the real topic. The idea was to have some fun. The guy was a megalomaniac who apparently knew everything about laying brick, cutting choice meat, building a new complex, light bulbs, but knew....NOTHING about how to win at football on the big scale.

Wow. You get really mad over improper grammar, don't you? Oh wait, apparently you need to take your own advice.

What's your point? Pretty harsh and you're not even correct.

A lot of good coaches are A-holes....note Nick Saban,
Steve Spurrier to name a couple. I guess if a coach consistently wins, he deserves the right to be an A-hole.

I was cruisin' with the Dooley one night after a frat party. He had me stop the car so he could pick up a stray puppy. After picking the pup up and getting back in the car, I proceeded down the road. He waited until I got up to 50 mph, then he threw that puppy out the window.

True story (kind of).

It would be a better story if it had been a cat instead of a puppy.

:rock:I rode Coach DOOLEY hard for the last few weeks, it was time for him to go he is gone now lets give him a break, and move on, he took the job when nobody would, he cant help that he is not a SEC coach he did all he could, it wasnt good enough, I thank him for trying.
We sure don't need to know what you and Dools did behind closed doors.

I heard he's notorious for camping in Call of Duty, and also beats NES games with a Game Genie but then claims he beat them "legit".

By Jason Peter's account on the Jim Rome show, Tom Osborne was beloved by his players, like JP said...Braska never had a roster of parade all-americans, a top 10 recruiting class or a lot of love from the Media, but when Osborne spoke to the players he had 100 young men ready to run through walls for him. Spurrier is very likeable, we just hate him because he will always be the enemy, i find him to be sarcastic, witty and a good interview myself, Saban is no Vol fan favorite but hes a charming witty entertaining interview, i try to figure out how any of those guys are unlikeable, except the fact that they all have beaten us or been the enemy on multiple occasions and were used to seeing them through orange tinted beer goggles. I hate the OBC and Saban as much as the next guy but outside of enemy fans no one in the media seems to call any of these guys unlikeable.
