Tell Me Your Favorite Vols Game Versus Every SEC Team

I know you mean football but my most favorite Vols game against anyone was the win over Kentucky at Stokely in 1977. It wasn’t just the game it was the whole experience from sleeping overnight in line in 4 degree temperatures to get tickets, to the press buildup of the game in an era without internet and social media, to watching a whole load of All Americans go toe to toe for 40 minutes and finally, to victory. I’ve just never been to any game in football since then that pushed that out of my memory. It’s the basketball version of this years Bama game in Neyland, I suspect.

Alabama 1995 - all he did was score on play #1. Vols roll the tide 41-14 in Birmingham. (this year was a close 2nd tho)
Arkansas 1971 - LIberty Bowl. Vols come from behind to win 14-13. It was "hog killing time in Tennessee."
Auburn 1985 -- Auburn #1 at time, Bo won the Heisman but quit in the 3rd Q this day as Vols won 38-20. Robinson throws, McGee catches.....
Florida 1990 -- Spurrier brings his first Gator team to Neyland, 6-0 and ranked 3rd... Vols win 45-3....Von Reaves to Carl Pickens
Georgia 2016 -- Dobbs heaves it.....
Kentucky 2022 -- UK thought they were going to win .........lose 44-6
LSU 2022 -- 40-13. Beat down of a very good team. Tigers thought they were gonna win that one too.
Ole Miss 1968 -- Vols beat down Archie Who 31-0 in Knoxville
Miss State 1990 -- hotter than blue blazes and MSU thought they were gonna win. Vols won 45-3 in Starkville......Ber-Nard Daffney!!
Missouri 2021-- Boat raced the Tigers in Columbia
South Carolina 1993 -- 55-3 and was not as close at the score. Steve Tanneyhill was their QB
Texas A&M 2005 Cotton Bowl-- heard how great Aggie fans were but they all left in 3rd Q. Vols won 38-7 in another game not as close as the score
Vandy 1994 or 2022 -- Both times, Vandy came in on a winning streak and expected to win. Lost 65-0 and this year lost 56-0. 98 was fun too, won 40-0.
A lot of great ones on your list.

I remember that game. Great choice. And I stated that it can be any sport not just football.

Not going to relist the obvious ones that have been mentioned 100 times, but some good ones...

Georgia - 2009 Absolutely rolled them in Athens, seemed to signal that we were back. What could have been.

LSU - 2005 I'm not sure we've ever had the world pulling against us as hard as in that game. Didn't matter. Ainge dug us in a seemingly insurmountable hole, then Riggs and Clausen dug us out.

South Carolina - 2003 Saw Lou Holtz leaving the field really close to me after the game. He looked like he'd just witnessed a family member's murder.
2009 - Debut of the black jerseys and just annihilating a Spurrier team is always exciting.

Vanderbilt - 2003 Third consecutive shutout of the Dores. 41-0 at halftime.

I was there for three of those games, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Bama. Great list.
The only game I didn’t see or listen to was 1983 LSU.

All of them are somewhat recent history but so many great games to chose from.
Alabama - 95
Auburn - 97 Sec championship game
Arkansas - 98 of course
LSU - 22 because it made the entire conference take notice that we are back. May have ranked 05 comeback above this if the rest of the 05 season was not a disaster
Miss State - 98 SEC championship game
Miss - 90
Texas A&M - guess the 05 cotton bowl by default
Florida - 98 game
Georgia - 04 game just because how unexpected it was and was probably one of Richt’s best teams
Kentucky - 97 game with over 1000 yds passing combined for Manning and Couch
Missouri - 21 game as it was a eye opener on what Heupel’s offense could achieve at Tennessee
South Carolina - 2014 comeback in our final game against one of our greatest foes (Spurrier)
Vandy - hard to pick one as beating vandy is nothing special but guess 97 game winning the sec East and Manning leading the band despite knowing his performance probably cost him the Heisman.

That 1998 Arkansas game was an emotional rollercoaster. One of my all time favorite games period.

Which is considered the greatest (or your favorite) Tennessee game against every SEC* opponent?

Name as many SEC teams as you want, but only one game per school.

*Games played before a team joined the SEC is allowed. You can also include any former or confirmed future members. Also doesn’t have to be just football.

Edit: If you are a fan of an opposing SEC school, you can play too.
If your favorite team isn’t an SEC school, pick your favorite game vs each SEC school, not your own conference (@BUBear )
