Florida: 1998 (* no commentary needed)
Georgia: 2004 (It was a humiliating loss for them)
Kentucky: (2007, they were good and we stole thier soul)
LSU: 2022 (Smack down @ Neyland of the Deep South)
Ole Miss: 1985 (There in rabid student section)
Miss State: 1998 (Was there)
Mizzou: 2021 (butt kicking party)
South Carolina: 2009 Black out Surprise
A&M: 2004(5) w the mighty Rick Clausen
Vandy: 1991 Dale Carter runs through their warmup before the rout ensues
Wonderful list.

Only naming games I attended

Alabama - 1982
Arkansas - 1990 Cotton Bowl
Auburn - 1985
Florida - 2001
Georgia - 2006
Kentucky - 1997
LSU - 1989
Ole Miss - 1989 (Webb ran wild)
Mississippi St - 1998 (SECCG)
Missouri - 2012 (haven't been to many vs Missouri)
South Carolina - 1998
Texas A&M - 2016 (last UT game I attended)
Vanderbilt - 1994
2016 it’s like we had two different teams. Team A played their hearts out, after the A&M game they went downhill. Still don’t get the big change.

My junior year at UT and Auburn came in to Neyland ranked #2 I believe. What a game! And Marion Hobby and Tracy Hayworth just kept batting down passes by Reggie Slack.

Whoa, some of those are from over 100 years ago, VolPackpedia strikes again. 🤣😂🤣
Impressive. That 1980 Tennessee team was not very good, had a lot of horrible losses. How we destroyed a very good Auburn team I’ll never know.

1989. Pouring rain much of the game. Auburn had 2 safeties when they snapped the ball over the punter's head and through the endzone. Vols rushed for a lot of yards and even tho they only won by 7, it seemed a lot worse. Vols OL and DL physically whipped Pat Dye's team. This was after the 1988 debacle of a season and I remember seeing the video of either Hobby or Haywood telling everyone in the locker room to be quiet b/c he had something to say........"THE BIG ORANGE IS BACK!" And they were for the next 15-20 years.

Bama -1995 the 41-14 win at Bama. Joey Kent TD 1st play of the game

Florida 1990 45-3 beat down, Dale Carter KO return to start the 2nd half

Auburn 1985 beat down of Bo

LSU 2005 the big comeback on the Monday night game post Katrina

UGa - 2016 Dobb Nail boot Hail Mary

UK - this year

Vandy - not worth picking one

Miss State -1998 SECCG

Arkansas -1990 Cotton Bowl (before they were in SEC, but it was the best game I remember with them. 1998 sucked, we played terrible, but it was a magical ending)

Carolina - 2009, 1st ever black uni for the Vols

Ole miss - honestly can’t recall a great one. Weird because we played them annually before the SEC went to divisions.

Mizzou and A&M too new to have a “favorite” game
Ole Miss: 1989 Chuck Webb ran for 300 yards

Which is considered the greatest (or your favorite) Tennessee game against every SEC* opponent?

Name as many SEC teams as you want, but only one game per school.

*Games played before a team joined the SEC is allowed. You can also include any former or confirmed future members. Also doesn’t have to be just football.

View attachment 523067

Edit: If you are a fan of an opposing SEC school, you can play too.
If your favorite team isn’t an SEC school, pick your favorite game vs each SEC school, not your own conference (@BUBear )

I started watching in 1989.

Alabama: 2022 52-49. As a single stand alone game, I don't think it will ever be topped.
Arkansas: 1998 28-24 easy choice.
Auburn: 1989 21-14. Cobb-Webb becomes the talk of college football
Florida : 1998 20-17. Obviously I will not blame anyone for selecting 2001, but this game defined that NC season more than any other for me.
Georgia: 1997 38-13 Manning's magnum opus. The Jennings catch is close but tainted by that abominable coaching job/season.
Kentucky: 1997 59-31 Manning over Couch
LSU: 2001 26-18 right after 9-11. I attended and it was pretty emotional.
Missouri 2021: 62-24 We have a coach.
Miss State: 1998 SECCG 24-14
Ole Miss: 1989 First game I attended as a kid. Webb ran for 296. 101st Airborn parachuted in
South Carolina: 2009 31-13 (Hardesty, Halloween uniforms)
Texas A&M: 2004 Cotton Bowl 38-7. The only option.
Vanderbilt: 1993 62-14

Alabama- This year and the 95 game... Manning to Kent on the first play. 41-14. Beautiful.

Florida- 1998 and 2001. The excitement of beating them home and then away, for all the marbles in the East.

Georgia- 2016. Dobbs to Jennings. Perfection.

LSU- 1989. 45-39. Coming off the 5-6 1988 season.

Kentucky- Any of the Tim Couch years. I loved all the offense. And we won them all.

Vandy- 65-0 in 98. Finishing off the year in dominating fashion

Arkansas- 3 games... 98 STUMBLE AND FUMBLE!!!
2002 6ot thriller!! And the 1990 Cotton Bowl. Chuck Webb and Carl Pickens were amazing.

USC Jr- Black Jerseys in 2009. Lane Kiffin's best gift to Tennessee.

Auburn- 97 SEC Title game

Missouri- Last year and This year. Domination.

Texas A&M- 2005 Cotton Bowl

Ole Miss- 41-3 beating in 1996 in Memphis.

MSU- 98 SEC title game. The last time we won it. RIP Pirate!!

Love that LSU game too, don’t think anybody expected Tennessee to dominate on the road the way they did.

I know right? I have always liked Brian Kelly, I was surprised at how fast we deflated them so early in the game and how he wasn't able to get them to fight back.

I know you mean football but my most favorite Vols game against anyone was the win over Kentucky at Stokely in 1977. It wasn’t just the game it was the whole experience from sleeping overnight in line in 4 degree temperatures to get tickets, to the press buildup of the game in an era without internet and social media, to watching a whole load of All Americans go toe to toe for 40 minutes and finally, to victory. I’ve just never been to any game in football since then that pushed that out of my memory. It’s the basketball version of this years Bama game in Neyland, I suspect.
Ernie & Bernie Show.
