Tennessee #8 in CFP

Penn State is benefitting from Notre Dame only being allowed to be ranked as high as the 5 line.

We need Georgia to take a 3rd loss to Texas and possibly Ohio St would fall below us if Oregon beat them. That's the only way we get ranked high enough to host a game.

If Georgia beats Texas that just creates another 2 loss team to compete with and if OSU beats Oregon then both will stay ranked above us.
If Ohio St beats Michigan on Saturday, there’s virtually no chance of them falling behind Tennessee with a loss in the B10 title game. They’d have a better record, a top ten win against Indiana, and their two losses would be to the top ranked team in the country.

Love ok at their rank. 2nd and it's not close to 3rd. They won't fall below anyone bit they will get bumped to the 5 seed and obliterate some big12 loser

We are solidly in and winning on Saturday will keep us in the playoffs.

Other teams above and around us will play each other -

- Miami and SMU are on the path to play each other provided Miami beats Syracuse this weekend.
- Georgia is going to either play Texas or A&M
- Oregon is going to play either OSU, Penn State or Indiana.

Beat Vandy!

Oregon/Osu and SEC loser will drop so win and we host

Oregon and OSU loser will be the first seed that isn't on the conference champ line.

The real debate is going to be where does Texas drop and does the committee buck 1 loss vs 2 loss teams in regards to Penn State.

I would be shocked if Penn State stays at top 5 on final rankings. They are a better Indiana, but still have not beat anyone

Imagine being Oregon in the #1 seed and as as a resuly they would have to play the winner of UGA vs Tennessee. Not exactly the best draw in my opinion.
I made the comment last week that they should throw the B10 title game. If they did, they’d be the five seed. That would mean that they would host the B12 champion in the first round, then get Boise in the quarterfinals.

Two top ten wins actually

Georgia loses SEC championship would think they would be below us with 3 losses. How far will Texas drop if they lose to A&M or Georgia? Think we have a few scenarios to host.
That’s the question that everyone wants to know. How much will the loser of these title games be punished? I feel like Texas has the most to lose because their SOS is terrible . They could drop out altogether if they lose to aTm this weekend . I doubt it, but they could drop out of hosting .

Ohio State won't fall lower than 5th with a loss. They will have two losses to the #1 team and two top five wins

It's been established that the Oregon/Ohio State loser is the 5 seed

So the rankings after all the championships games has been published? Can you tell me where Tennessee ends up??

Correct. The main deviation from tonight I am dealing in is that Georgia is winning the SEC which will be a home game for them and OSU / Oregon loser is the first non conf champ seed (5 seed).

So in that sense, its a matter of who gets the 6,7, and 8 seeds hosting playoff games between Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, and Tennessee....

Since the committee is willing to buck teams with unequal records (see Georgia and Tennessee tonight over a 1 loss Indiana), Tennessee blowing out Vandy this weekend could go a long way in the Texas vs Tennessee debate on that final host seed.

Time zone wise, that is best for Oregon ha
