Tennessee #8 in CFP

There’s absolutely a scenario where Tn plays UGA in the first round. First, if UGA wins this Friday against Tech, they’re in the playoffs, regardless of what happens in the SEC championship game. Secondly, even if they lose to Tx or A&M, there’s no guarantee that the committee would hold that against them as far as seeding goes.
So you are a saying that a 3 loss GA would host a 2 loss TN team? I don't think so. Of course unless we use the 2020 election committee, then anything is possible.

3 loss Georgia would be behind 2 loss Tennessee. We've been repeatedly ranked behind teams we beat in these rankings with the same number of losses. Aka head to head has been meaningless for us in 2022 and 2024.
That is not true... See tonight... We literally have two 2 loss SEC teams ahead of a 1 loss Big Ten team.... Committee isn't ranking based on number of losses being equal

Well first off, you didn’t say in Athens, you just said there was no scenario where TN plays GA in the first round. But yes, I think it’s entirely possible that UGA stays where they are if they lose to TX. We have no idea how the committee is going to judge the loser of a conference title game. Especially in the SEC amd B10.

Would be nice to get the 6th seed and get to host and then play acc champ!

I think for certain we get at least the 8th seed and probably 7 meaning we host for sure (assuming we beat Vandy) - loser of SEC will be behind us - either Texas with best win being Vandy (who we also beat) or UGA with third loss would be behind us despite beating us.

If ND were to puke it up vs. USCw I think we could get that 7 spot - maybe even 6 if we stomp Vandy down bad and look good doing it.

Considering where we were seven days ago, this is damn awesome!
If you want the 6th seed

Gtech over UGA and then Texas over Uga
USC over ND
and another close win or loss for Penn state.

It’s possible!

Fu@ked that the lame ass bigb 10 loving cheater committee is trying to eliminate half the SEC in the 1st round due to seeding bias . Should be SEC vs big or acc in round 1... not SEC vs SEC and weak tit vs.weak tit.

if TX has two losses and they're both to UGA, we aren't leaping them.

edit: it's BS the "y" automatically gets deleted after the "A" in my response

Well in that scenario, you are saying the CFP will view a 2 loss Texas being in the same pool of non conference champ teams of Ohio State (assuming Oregon wins Big Ten for simplicity sake), Penn State, Notre Dame....... If Texas loses, they would likely fall to the line of getting the last host seed. That puts them behind Ohio State, and 1 loss Penn State and 1 loss Notre Dame.... That would be the minimum.... Tennessee has better record and resume than Texas. And based on the bipolar attitude of CFP tonight said they are ranking teams on who they view as better

At minimum with Texas losing in Atlanta, that means the following:

1- Oregon
2- Georgia
3- Miami
4- Boise State
5- Ohio State
6- Notre Dame
7- Penn State
8- Tennessee / Texas

It is very wild that Indiana e

Georgia winning the SEC is a good start for us..... Committee having to drop back Texas to the non conf champion bye line makes our argument a bit better....

I think everyone is going to whine and moan about a rematch with Georgia, but I don't know any oddsmakers who are favoring Texas in a rematch with Georgia..... Tennessee playing at Georgia for the first round has to be one of the least probable, most commotion causing outcomes they are talking about
I think the best case scenario for us is for notre dame and Miami to lose this weekend, South Carolina to beat Clemson, A&M to beat Texas then lose to Georgia in the SECCG. In that case, assuming we beat Vandy, it would likely look like this:
1. Oregon/Ohio St winner
2. Georgia
3. Clemson/SMU
4. Boise St
5. Oregon/Ohio St loser
6. Penn St
7. Tennessee
8. Texas
9. Indiana
10. SMU(if they lose ACC)/Notre Dame
11.South Carolina
12. Big 12 champ

If you are getting worried about the rankings showing us playing Georgia in a rematch, you don't have to worry. That is the least probable scenario to happen.

That is a lot to happen, why not just let everyone else win and then Texas beat Georgia in the SEC CG??

Not sure how you think our record and resume is better than TX when our only win against a good team is 3-loss Bama which just got rolled by Oklahoma

TX will have beaten aTm by the time they play UGA. That's a top 20 win. Our only top 20 win is against 3 loss Bama.
So let me get this straight. Texas gets to benefit of calling A&M a Top 20 Win even though at 8-4, A&M would finish the regular season unranked

BUT

You are saying we don't get the benefit of calling Bama a Top 10 Win regardless of them finishing regular season Top 15 at 9-3?

Who have we repeatedly been ranked behind who we beat? We were ranked behind Bama for exactly one week, and that was a situation where we, Georgia, and Bama all had wins over each other, and someone had to be ranked behind someone they beat. We also got ranked behind Bama in 2022 when Hooker got hurt. Head to head has not been meaningless. We were just a victim of circumstances.
