Tennessee #8 in CFP

Who have we repeatedly been ranked behind who we beat? We were ranked behind Bama for exactly one week, and that was a situation where we, Georgia, and Bama all had wins over each other, and someone had to be ranked behind someone they beat. We also got ranked behind Bama in 2022 when Hooker got hurt. Head to head has not been meaningless. We were just a victim of circumstances.
We were ranked behind Bama this year the instant we picked up loss 2 when they had two losses, and in 2022 in week 12, 13, and 14, with the same number of losses and a head to head win. So quite literally in the 4 weeks of this poll where we've had the same number of losses as a team we beat, they've been ranked ahead of us every single week it was possible.

Athens has 0 shot at remaining our first round stop, if we beat Vandy. They either drop with a 3rd loss (possibly entirely out of the playoff) or win and move way up into the bye. Georgia went from #1 to #6 when they lost in the SECCG in 2023. If they lose there this year and drop even 5 spots, they are out of the playoff entirely. There's no way they lose and stay ranked exactly the same, while we also stay the same.

Playing Georgia could be a good thing in first round. The old saying ""It's hard to beat a good team twice."comes into play because we played them so recently.Film will show how they handle us and how we can fix the errors we made.Georgia will play us the same and we should be able to stop them the second time.

Big 12 conference champion gets bye/top 4.
The Big 12 might not even make it if Arizona State, Iowa State, and BYU lose. Kansas State and Colorado are barely still ranked and Tulane is surging, ranked right behind the highest ranked Big 12 team. It’s a high possibility we see two Group of 5 teams make it in. That’s essentially what the Big 12 is now anyways but still.

I think a Georgia SEC Champ will push us to the final host seed. I'm not sure a Texas SEC champ will drop Georgia below us with that head to head they hold over us. Committee just said losses don't matter in the record column with Indiana being dropped below UGA and Tennessee
Georgia is only ranked 1 spot ahead of Tennessee. A 3rd loss would have to put them below us otherwise the ranking system is broken. Georgia only can claim the head to head victory over Tennessee if they have 2 losses. After that they are on their own.

Tennessee beats Vandy
USC beats Notre Dame
Maryland beats Penn State
SC beats Clemson

Final seeds
1 Ohio St
2 Georgia
3 Miami
4 Boise
5 Oregon v 12 Arizona St
6 Texas v 11 Penn St
7 Tennessee v 10 South Carolina
8 Indiana v 9 Alabama

And their 3rd loss would be in a meaningless game aka they won’t get punished for losing

See, I don't think the northern communist would move TX behind TN in a loss to GA. I think the only way we host is for TX to beat GA. in SECC.
I’m with you on this. I also don’t think UGA gets to keep the same ranking and not fall even one spot if they were to lose to Texas. Maybe as many as three. But definitely at least one.
