Tennessee Baseball Commitments 2024, 2025, 2026 and beyond

Spot on! The SEC is turning into an MLB farm system, right before our very eyes.
I honestly think we will see more and more of the top players make their way to college, have fun, make a little money and get ready for the bigs.
I think you are on to something Mookie.
I hope so. MLB doesn’t seem to have a problem with it! 😉🤙🏼

After visiting Knoxville earlier this month, South Gibson junior Cade Allen announced his commitment to the defending national champions on Monday.

Allen is committed to play college baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers.

Throughout his career, Allen has been considered one of the top pitching prospects in the state.

During the fall, Allen has taken visits to Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M

As a sophomore, Allen went 8-3 in 59.1 innings pitched as he struck out 85 with a 1.19 ERA. The opposing batters were held to a .126 batting average against him.

Allen has helped the Hornets to the Class 3A state tournament each of the last two seasons, and they finished in the top six last year behind his pitching performance against Station Camp in the opening game. Allen allowed one run on three hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk.

Last fall, Allen was one of 20 players selected by USA Baseball for the 15U National Team roster. Allen was the starter in the opener against the Dominican Republic that USA won 13-1. He pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

He also got the start in the championship game against Puerto Rico, which the USA won 12-3. He pitched 2.1 innings, allowing one run on no hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

As a freshman, he went 5-1 on the mound with a 1.6 ERA and 81 strikeouts.

It’s pretty amazing what CTV and the coaching staff are putting together.
At this point, it’s not surprising. He’s had elite recruiting the last few years. The only thing that would surprise me would be a huge drop off like Ole Miss and Miss State with this level of recruiting. I don’t see Tony letting something like that happen.

He might be the best coach in UT history regardless of sport. I know, need to see sustained success over another decade to surpass General Neyland or Pat Summitt but he’s well on his way. CTV has the “it” factor and so glad to see that he has the full support of the administration and the fans.

💯

Another one who likely never sets foot on campus, but having our name attached to him certainly doesn't hurt.

I figure if you keep stacking talent like this, a few are bound to forego the draft and come to college. Not many, but a few, and it really only takes 1-2 of these first-round level talents removing their name from the draft to make a large impact.

I know it’s anecdotal, but LSU had a similarly ranked high school pitcher say no to first round money this year to come to school.

No, you're right. I'm speaking strictly on an individual level. But yes, stacking kids like this increases the odds on the whole that one bucks the system and plays college ball. And taking them from rival conference schools only adds to the importance and excitement.

Yep. Plus when looking to build depth from guy’s that won’t go straight to the draft, this type of talent makes it that much more alluring for the mid-level prospects to want to jump in the boat. I know we’re likely to never see most of these Top 25 players coming to campus though.
