When does the team cut the roster down to the title IX limit for spring - 40ish. I know some programs trim down during fall and some have massive cuts at Christmas break. How has Tony V typically done that?

February IIRC. Some will lose a roster spot by “taking it too easy” over the Christmas break. Some will win a spot by working hard over the Christmas break.

Schoolcraft (Does CTV recruit the guys with the best names or what?) probably never makes it to LNS due to his talent... MLB will draft him very high.

Thome has similar talent but I think he comes to TN. His dad seems to really value education:
Thome and his wife, Andrea, have two children, Lila Grace and Landon.[150] He has also established funds to put his 10 nieces and nephews through college.

Just my guesses.

It's difficult to tell how good of a recruiting class we're getting. There isn't access to a list like in football.
