Tennessee basically beat nobody this year really

4 losses is a HUGE step backwards. Our best win of the year was against a team that paid 76 million to tell their coach to GTFO.

We lost all 4 of the toughest games on our schedule and none of them were even a contest. Outside of the first half of the Bama game UT basically didn't board the busses. Zero signature wins. Basically Butch Jones 2.0
Wow what an insightful thread. Looks like you are in the running for the dumb thread of the year award.

Exactly, definitely worse than the 3-9 year before him. Danny should fire him tonight, beg Pruitt or Dooley back, or cancel football completely!

It's like some of you think we have big name coaches just beating the door down to be here. Nobody has wanted this job in 20 years, that's why we were in the mess we were. Absolutely I question some things, but what are we gonna do? You all act like what we think matters, that someone is going to listen to us? Give it time, we're not 3 years from 3-9, goodness.

Good and getting boat raced by every important game on the schedule are two different things. You’re pathetic for settling. You’ll be just fine dragging through another 20 years if football misery telling people they’re pathetic for wanting more. Shame on us for expectations. The money, the program, the facilities are there. Shame on us for wanting TN to be a football great again. Shame on us for not wanting to settle for the trailer park and natty ice.
Shame on you for wanting a coach fired after an 11 win season. Pathetic.

Come on. The only games you might be able to take issue with are Florida and Mizzou. Otherwise we won the games we were favored to win. Regarding Georgia, we all get hyped up for game week and talk about beating Georgia and all (I did it too), but did you really think it would happen? The game pretty much played out like everyone said it would. We fought hard for just over a quarter and their depth and talent took control from there. We aren’t winning that game until we start recruiting at or at least somewhat close to their level, period.

Wow the level of idiocy is astounding. I never once said we should fire the coach. Please learn to read and not put words in people mouth.

Time will tell, I hope Heupel makes it, UT doesn't need another coaching change for at least 10 years but I'm not sure how that's going to look 2 years from now. You make big league money you better have big league results
Time for a new offense and defense coordinator Players need to play with a mean attitude and more passion.

Losing Haddon was massive but not having depth to replace him is on the staff. Going back to a qb who was deemed not good enough by Michigan...then not good enough for his new team by their own coach benching him for Hooker...is just..bad. Obvious type bad....but losing Haddon and Bru were massive blows and shame on Heupel for not being prepared in the event that could happen.

Milton named starter doomed this season before it began. Heupel knew this....he benched him himself.

Going 10-2 really put expectations out of whack for year 3 for a lot of folks obviously.

My only issue (and there's a thread about it), is that he really didn't beat anyone he wasn't supposed to.

Readily admit beat zero ranked teams. Zero.

Beat what…three bowl eligible teams (aTm, UK and UTSA)?

That won’t get it done for sure.

But you're acting like 8-4 is the worst season we ever had. I get it, people post with emotions after a loss like that, but what's the point of making a thread about us basically sucking like this, if you're not advocating for change?

Only a battered UT fan would say this. "You know that that time you went 10-2 in year 2? Yeah we don't expect that around here so it's totally cool if you don't do that again for a long while" lol my goodness.

I'm advocating for change all right. But not a change in coaching like you are projecting. I'm advocating for a change in how Heupel and his players approach these games with actual preparation and adjustments.

If Heupel fails at doing this I will eventually advocate for his replacement as any responsible person would do.
