*****Tennessee Football Coaching Search BIG BOARD [updated 12.4 10:47 am]

The only good news if Friend is promoted to OC is that he will no longer be OL coach.....which he totally sucked at
I had that same thought, although he technically could do both. To be honest, he hasn’t had much to work with since Kennedy and trey went down. Unfortunately, a center and a tackle don’t make a line even when healthy.

Someone wrote that Gus doesn’t really get caught up by money given his roots and that the main thing he doesn’t want is to get fired by Auburn as it would be the first time in his coaching life he would be fired. He’s a weird guy but the not ever being fired thing makes him tick more than money.

There's two kinds of coaches out there ... them that's been farhd and them that's about to be farhd.

Can we just hire Charlie Weis Jr or Art Briles as OC and get this plane down the runway?

Just got a chance to listen to Low's full segment on Swain this morning. He said Lindsey wants out of Auburn. Could be interesting.
Indeed. Also interesting that Low thinks we'd get Freeze if Pruitt and Fulmer want him.

Something tells me there's a lot of backdoor power punches being thrown between Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, and the SEC. Alabama wanted Freeze last year and you can bet that Malzahn would love to have him since the two are pals, but Auburn is trying to force Malzahn to keep Lindsey... but Tennessee wants Lindsey and Lindsey want out at Auburn. Enos could be a candidate at both Auburn and Tennessee, but he could be in line to replace Locklsley as Alabama's OC. But maybe Saban would rather have Freeze as his OC?

It'll be interesting to see where all these guys land.

I'm not a fantasy football guy, but if I were, It would be my fantasy for Peyton to be on the sidelines as our OC. I know it's not happening but if it were, it wouldn't be Volnation meltdown. It would be utter college football, recruiting, ESPN meltdown of epic proportions. Man, where's that damn Gennie in the bottle when you need him/her????

Peyton said he wouldn't do that because Tennessee fans like him right now, and he doesn't want that to change. And unfortunately, he's right. As soon as he started calling plays the fanbase didn't like, they'd start making fun of his forehead and saying they wished he'd go back to Papa John's or something stupid like that.

I still think a Hugh Freeze hire opens the door to a Jalen Hurts grad transfer. Another possible scenario is a Justin Fields transfer from UGA where Daddy is already crying about lack of playing time (both this year and in the future).

I refuse to get my hopes up...well, ok, maybe a little
