I don't think an announcement is made until Sunday and then the new coach will begin recruiting next week so as to have the focus on the SEC Championship Game tomorrow.

These are my thoughts on the Bama/TN media spin:
1. Nick isn’t going to disrupt his offensive style to hire Freeze who will flip it upside down. They’d be great together and the O would dominate even more but Nick is primarily a power formation guy with a little razzle dazzle here and there. He doesn’t need the spread to win.
2. Why would Freeze want to join Bama as OC? What would he gain? It doesn’t make sense to me. If Freeze goes to Bama he’s built nothing. All he’s done is joined a well oiled machine and keeps it going. Sure, his resume would say he coached with Nick. Who cares? Freeze doesn’t need Nick though. He’s already an accomplished HC. I think Freeze knows his resume would look better for a future second chance HC job if he resurrected TN’s O and helped Pruitt bring TN back from the dead. I just think Freeze has the type of personality that he’d rather beat the top dog rather than join him.

Kress just tweeted he got discouraging texts about Freeze. Calling it a Gundy situation

Word is that the Interim President won’t sign off on the hire...not sure that an OC hire needs to go that far up for approval but I guess given his past but still... seems a stretch
