you know, i really have come to believe a lot of people feel UT owes them something. like, if they don't hire the person THEY want or the UT admin didn't call them to ask if they approved the candidate, then the whole thing is bungled. the absolute idiotic hot takes I've read on here just frustrates and bums me out.

At this point, it is far better to take your time and get the right coach and the right fit. If he doesn't hire anyone until after the national championship or even the NFL season is over, it's okay, the program isn't ending. It's not like we're going to a bowl game and have no one to coach the offense. I get the concern that not having someone hurts recruiting, I don't think that's a certainty by any stretch, but I get the concern, but even if it does keep us from closing a prospect or two in the early period (and again I am not convinced it will), we are far better off waiting and hiring a good OC/good fit, than panic hiring a terrible coach to please an 18 year old for ESD.

Hiw can you argue that he is not an up tempo spread scheme OC. Did you listen to his press conference as head coach. Helton is a descendent of the Hal Mummy schemes

Out of all the people that WANT the job, was Pruitt being biased based on a personal level?

Pruitt probably has 2 lists. One list has candidates he personally knows and is trying to CONVINCE to come here.
The other list are candidates he probably doesn't know but have expressed interest.

Tennessee football will ALWAYS be some sort of dream job. I'm starting to feel like Pruitt is a control freak. That's not the right direction.

Because he is the COACH and knows a heck of a lot more, no let me rephrase that he has forgot more about schemes and abilities of coaches than you or I either 1 even know. Besides ya can't judge a guy after 1 year when he is having to work with a skill set for another scheme from coaches with totally different mentality on coaching. Never mind the fact that we just reopened our S&C program after being shut down for the past year and a half. Wasn't pleased with the overall record but did see improvement over the course of the season. But hey, let's keep the revolving door in the football offices for coaches and never have any stability.

If you went to the University, sent children there, or go to games and have spent thousands of dollars on the University then yes they do owe you the decency of trying to field a competitive team. They haven’t done that very often for the last decade

Fire- UT will find the right head coach. It will just take some time. Look at Georgia and how many coaches they went through before the right one came along. I disagree about Pruitt's football IQ. His football IQ is very very low.

Helton said in the first press conference that we were going to bring back the I formation. He said we would have multiple offensive sets depending on what the defense did.

And as far as roots his offensive system is more rooted in power spread like Brohm and Petrino run.

Wrong. They don't owe you crap because it's not the university who should cater to each individuals expectations of what success is. Doesn't matter if you went there or sent your kids, they should never run a program based on pleasing the fan base. That's letting the fan base run the program and might I remind you, fan is short for fanatic.

Well I'm sorry but maybe you just don't know football as well as you think you do.


And Georgia didn't go thru many coaches, Richt was there for 14 years. Only had 3 not counting Kirby since 88.

Since Georgia has it down and doin so well maybe this would be a good time to evaluate your fandom and go ahead a jump on the wagon before it gets to full for ya. Cause just by your post history I'm not sure your a true UT fan.
