*****Tennessee Football Coaching Search BIG BOARD [updated 12.4 10:47 am]

My ill conceived rant?? LOL you literally just said they they owe you to field a good team because you went to UT and sent kids. Feel entitled much? Don't be so triggered

Why on Earth would I be triggered by you? No, I said they owe the individuals who have invested money in the University. I am not sure you even grasp what being “triggered” means if you think my statements resemble it

If the snag on majority of these OC's is based on not wanting Will Friend to step down, etc.. then Pruttt will look at other referrals inside his staff.
Here's a name that I think we might here:

RON DUGANS -- currently co-OC /WR at Miami
THOMAS BROWN --- currently co-OC/RB at Miami

The dude Pruitt passed on as WR coach?

And I reiterate, the university doesn't owe them or anyone, just because they went to school or sent kids to school. This isn't capitalistic investing where you put money in and expect a certain percentage out. That's what you're failing to get and got butthurt by it and called my post an "ill conceived rant".

In that same light, the team isnt owed anything either are they?
What like fans showing up to games or like financial support? My whole thing is that everyone has different expectations of what success is. It's not the university job to go ask joe landscaper if he approves this hire or if the team is good enough for him. The university should be internally villigant in holding to their own standards and not change what they do or how they do it at every whim of the fans. So with there being little real info on what's actually going on, people are going nuts on here and shows their true colors.

Nothing more than curiosity, why do you like Navy instead of Army in football?

And I just said that to mess with you, I have no preference.
In the Marines. When I was younger, I worked at nco clubs on base sometimes. On gamedays, a large group would always come in and watch. Now my little boy wants to go to Navy so he and I have become fans. We went last year, hopefully can go again. He loves just going to the campus so anytime we are in that area we always make a trip over. Try to get him into the summer programs as well.

That's cool.

Yea, I knew you were in the Marines, that's why I wondered how you chose Navy over Army.

CJP will probable be looking for a job after next season. He will reap what he has sown. Poor decision after poor decision. Why did he hire an air raid up tempo OC in Helton and then demand that he have a run first power I offense. What coordinator in their right mind would ever want to work for Pruitt??????. Pruitt's stubborness will put him in the unemployed line. Albeit at the cost of a huge payout from UT.

I most certainly guarantee he will not be on the unemployment line after next season. Helton is not an air raid uptempo OC. The offense he helped run at USC is exactly what JP wants. Helton himself said what type offense he runs when he was hired. It's Prostyle with a power run game.

The problem with this hire is that Pruitt wants a proven OC and also wants to keep the bulk of his existing offensive staff in place.

Chances are, that proven OC we’re all seeking, had success with his own guys. Asking him to come in and not only teach new players a new system, but also teach position coaches that same very system is a tall task. Not to mention, personalities all have to mesh. This isn’t as easy as we’re all making it.

If I am Kendall Briles, I’m only going to Tennessee with my own guys. Success depends on it.

In no other venture in life would people be mocked or persuaded to continually spend money on a product that is poor. Yet ib sports, some fans feel the need to tell other people how to spend their money. We had a thread during the mizzu game start a thread calling fans not wearing orange dum...as...and the op was not at the game wearing orange himself.
But the University is staying true to what the believe, which is not being dedicated to winning football. Some fans believe the do this because they have a tremendous amount of money coming in that wont go away regardless of the product. Whether that is correct or not is irrelevant. Its every persons right to decide how and why they spend their money.

Hired by who? UT or WK?. Did you hear his press conference at WK? He is a spread coach plain and simple. Of course he is going to state that at UT. Look who his boss is.

New mantra for UT coaching searches. UT just can't get a date for the prom. Got this guy; oh wait, he decided to take another position; that guy is interested, that guy is interviewed, HS coaches mentioned, UT administration/Fulmer nixes deal, too much baggage, outrage by fan base. Man it is tough to be a Vol these days.

The joke is it is never over. They just sometimes stop pouring water on your face towel. It’s like being in one of those escape rooms but there really is no way out. You just get to keep looking.

With the early signing period beginning on December 19th, I think CJP makes a hire sometime this week so that any quarterback the possible oc is recruiting gets a chance to be added to UT's recruiting board.
