Tennessee has turned the corner.

Bwahahaha. OU covered the spread but we turned the corner. I'm more convinced than ever that we have the dumbest fanbase in the country. This nonsense has gone too far. There's a difference between optimism and detachment from reality and way too many of you fools are setting yourselves up for unnecessary disappointment, not to mention that you're setting all of us up for public ridcule. Let's be honest about our team and it's chances, maintain what dignity we have left, and hope for better days.

After last year's mediocre results, I have been holding back on CBJ, waiting to see how our Vols did in the 2nd half against OU and worried about a repeat performance of Oregon last year. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Some of you here called that, some of you said things had changed on Rocky Top and the best was ahead of us. YOU WERE RIGHT. I was wrong to be skeptical.

The first half was tough to watch, but I didn't quit -- i cheered and watched thru it all. I believe that it all turned the corner exactly during the halftime interview with Heather Cox of ABC/ESPN. When Coach Jones smiled to her ******* question and said "That's between us".

Very proud of you CBJ, that's a CLASSY way to handle it. THEN the team came out in the 2nd half and played toe-to-toe against the #3 team in the country.

I'm sold -- i'm on the CBJ bandwagon. Can I get a seat before we beat Florida and there are 100,000 more on the bandwagon?

To the loyal sunshine pumpers, make room for 1 more.

To those loyal #NegaVols, it's time -- you should watch the replay and put down the stick. it's time to get on board....

Oh, and I am revising my season prediction from 6-6 to 8-4
Thank The Lord for your revelation. Now I can put out the spiritual fire I have been burning since birth in your honor.

Didn't they play in the SEC Championship Game last year, and didn't we lose to everybody we played in the SEC except Kentucky?

Yes that's exactly what happened. What does that have to do with this years matchup? Both teams are completely different.

Bammer is going to have all they can handle with the Gators D this coming weekend. I suspect Bammer will actually come out of that game really banged up, UF's D is for real, maybe one of the best in the country. That said Bammer should win, UF's offense is not up to par. I really think we match up well with everyone left on our schedule but Bammer and I threw up in my mouth little bit while contemplating writing it. Can we stay healthy? Will we improve on offense and special teams? If we do it could be the difference between 6-6 and a great unexpected season!

Did you watch the same UK/FL game that I did? Florida's defense is far from "the best in the country"...

I am not saying that we can't beat Missouri. What I am saying is that they are playing well, with a lot of confidence, and Maty Mauk and Tyler Hansbrough are for real. We will have to play very well to beat them. They have athletes too.

I want to see what they do against some decent competition . They haven't played anyone yet.

Would you please just shut up with the negativity?

It's getting real old, real fast.

I think that Central Florida is decent competition. Penn State beat UCF by 2. Missouri beat them by 28.

I know that you don't consider last year relevant, but UCF played in a BCS Bowl ( Fiesta) last year, beating Baylor, and finished 12-1.

I would say that he is a realist, and that he has probably had his hopes dashed in the past. I have, and I refuse to get my hopes up yet.

No, there is a realist and there is borderline douche.

Seriously, a blind man could see we've taken great strides since last year. And there is no call for that sort of post, no matter what title hangs below the name.

And had Blake Bortles at the helm.

They are breaking in a freshman QB so I'd expect some erratic play throughout the year. I think the jury is still out on Mizzou. And we really won't be able to tell until the weekend of the 27th when they play USCe.

We have made strides this year. We also made strides at the beginning of Dooley's second year when we beat Butch and Cincy 45-23, or something similar. The man said nothing that offended me. He has obviously been burned in the past.

I have followed U.T. football for over 50 years, having attended my first U.T. game in 1957. I never allow myself to get overly confident. It will set you up for disappointment.

So Butch = Dooley? Is this what you're saying? We're at the same point in Butch Year 2 as we were in Dooley Year 2?

And I could give a damn if he's been burned in the past. We ALL have been burned in the past. And there is no call for saying what was said.

Alabama is going to have all they can handle on the third Saturday in October...at Neyland.
I agree with you there. Both Alabama and U.T. will have all they can handle if they play the 3rd Saturday in October. Alabama will be beat up after playing Texas A&M earlier that day in Tuscaloosa, and we will be after playing Ole Miss that same day in Oxford. Then both teams will have to travel back to Knoxville to play a late game.

At this point, I would say that we are at about the same point as this time in Dooley's second year, yes.

If Hunter had not been injured against Florida, and Bray had not been injured later, I believe that we would have won at least 8 games. If we had won 8, and Wilcox and the defensive staff had stayed, we would have won 9 or 10 in 2012, and Dooley would still be your coach.

Do I want him back? No way, but the jury is still out here. I am hopeful, but not totally convinced. Injuries could ruin this year still, and our recruiting could easily backslide. This class is the legacy class. Next year's doesn't look quite as good. If this year goes bad, recruiting may suffer. We need a really good year, and we need to show significant progress.

I'm so astounded I am almost completely unable to provide a response to this.

You sir need to turn on the TV for a change and actually watch this team.

And I am astounded at your lack of objectivity. Please tell me that at this time in Dooley's reign (early second year, after beating Butch and Cincy 45-23) that we did not have a potent offense (Bray, Hunter, Da'Rick), a solid defense led by Justin Wilcox ( check the rankings), and equal special teams play (neither are very good).

I am not comparing U.T. at the end of Dooley to where we are now. I am comparing early second year of each coach. Show me where I am wrong. We went to Florida thinking that we had a chance to beat them for the first time in years.

We go bowling this year I think, that's for sure.

I think we beat Florida and Mizz in Neyland and I think that we can catch Georgia or South Carolina napping a little. I doubt the Vols face another defense this year like Oklahomas so if nothing else that game was a good barometer for SEC play.

My lack of objectivity? Really? Don't keep up with my posts much do you?

Perhaps you missed the largest improvement over ANY Dooley team this year. And that's the fact this team has some HEART. For the first time in four years, those young men out there haven't quit. The defense didn't stop pummeling the other team. Worley got right back up after getting beat up time and time again and kept coming back for more.

I'm not objective? Try looking in the mirror sport. All you see if negativity and everything that's wrong with this team. Try looking for the huge neon sign that this team has some life in it for the first time in four years. Butch is leading them out of the doom and gloom culture and giving them hope they can achieve as long as they don't quit.
