Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel talks after loss to Florida at the Swamp

Precisely. We lost the NCAA offensive player of the year and the best WR in the country and we thought what? Coming off what he inherited? How would he be able to reload

I don’t believe he was expected to reload, but continued improvement would have been fine with me. Since the Virginia game, we've taken 10 steps backwards.

This game had Fulmer written all over it.

Coach Heupel developed that NCAA offensive player of the year and ran plays to emphasize that great WR.

I was hoping he could develop QBs, weren't you?
I was hoping we'd continue using the exciting and successful uptempo offense, weren't you?

We're not seeing that offense. We're not seeing those exciting throws. We're not seeing a QB who looks like an SEC caliber QB.

Did I expect him to reload, no.
Continue having success developing players, yes. Continue having success with uptempo offense, yes.

I agree with firing Banks
So, Banks only put up 16 points?
Florida had 349 yards and only 82 or thereabouts in the second half. Herring was mugged on the 62 yard run, which opened it up, and Hadden tried to hip the runner to the ground. Next longest play was 18 yards. Joe and an idiotic personal foul gave them the ball at the 9. 7 TFLs and only one big play. You must not remember what a bad defense looks like.

Hahaha the meltdown is real… a bad game and the board wants the man fired🤦‍♂️

99% of the people bashing him picked Tennessee to win but now Heupel can’t coach. He could before the game. It’s the Tennessee is going to run the table idiots who do this to themselves every year regardless of the coach or talent. He should have brought in a transfer qb to bridge the gap between Nico but didn’t. Far more talented qb’s including Hooker couldn’t win in the Swamp, Milton is far worse than them. They played much better in the second half but the 2nd quarter was dreadful. Tennessee isn’t going to fire Heupel lol

The bashing of this guy is unreal. Our OL is garbage. Our DBs are garbage. Yea, it’s year 3, but we got spoiled last year. End of the day, this offense has the ability to consistently get dudes open. You have to make the play. Milton is not consistent with his reads or throws, and the margin for error is much less than it was last year with our current WR group. We aren’t Bama or UGA. We didn’t have 5star guys lined up behind Wright, Hyatt, etc. It showing. The lack of OL depth/development/recruiting from 2019-2021 is showing. DB was always an issue, and we haven’t recruited a lot of high-end talent at DB over the last three years (have some 4 star Fr). We haven’t recruited well at LB or OL either for the most part over the last three years. It’s no coincidence that’s the areas of weakness for this team. It’s the positions with the least talent/depth. We have three LBs that can play right now, two of which have little/no SEC experience. We were always going to take a step back. Some of you need to put the bottle down and go to bed. I get the frustration, and I agree that changes to this staff may need to be made (DB/OL/LB/DC). It’s week three though. Try to just enjoy the season. Be happy.
As always, when a team is complete with all of your own players I am ALL FOR flipping out. Can we have questions and doubts along the way? Absolutely and often you can get a picture as to how things might end up. But until then I’m gonna trust him to either know what he’s doing or adjust and figure it out. The SEC is brutal. And it’s not like there’s a dozen sure fire coaches out there waiting in line to coach at UT. We ALL should know that by now. Completely flipping out in the meantime isn’t going to help anything.

Questioning, doubting, criticizing with a semi level head…absolutely. Completely bagging and trashing our coach from the soda he drinks, to his weight, to gum, etc is childish, makes us look ridiculous, and hurts the process. Even if he doesn’t pan out, acting like this only hurts the program with recruiting and landing the next coach if it comes to that. Big difference between passion and immaturity.

But what do I know.🤷🏻‍♂️ “Passion” is a great disguise for acting like a middle school boy throwing a fit.

So you write a paragraph about all the players we should have in year three but don't, because our $9 million dollar coach couldn't recruit them, and then tell us it's not his fault...Same crap we read on here about Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt. I especially loved the line about how recruiting from five years ago is hindering us now - took a lot of nerve to write that. Go back and look at what Saban started with at Bama and what he had talent-wise his second year - you know, when he only lost one game. Then look at what he did his third year there and tell me we're well-coached.

We're not.

I thought it had more of a Dooley/Butch flavor with a hint of Pruitt.

I missed the years when Dooley, Jones and Pruitt won 11 games.
we are not a 10-2 team this year. Many have been led to believe CJH offense is unstoppable. It’s not if plays aren’t made.

some of you need to be realistic. Is Joe another Henson? No, but not many are. Thornton dropped a 50/50 bomb near the goalline that was perfectly thrown. We got used to Tillman catching all those balls. But Thornton came back and made a good catch on a good throw the next play.

the OL was exposed last night but hopefully Cooper’s return will solidify things. Our DBs continue to be the weakest part of the team. It’s going to be a struggle this year but with some continued development, the young LBs will mature which will strengthen the D.

He lost to the court jester of SEC football. There is no coming back from that embarrassment.
I’m not sure why you guys are already so sure Napier can’t coach. A couple of years ago, Norvell was an idiot leading Florida State down the crapper and he proved many wrong.

The magic is gone. let's all be honest here about that. Golesh, Hooker, Hyatt, Tillman, etc.

Heupel didn't know what to do out there without Golesh at OC and I want to see that Tim Banks fired come Monday morning!!!! Yes sir!!
10 million dollars worth of bottled up magic on the bench…..unless that was 10 million dollars of snake oil and he got hoodwinked
