she said early in season they where "trying to win" which said took looger to learn play with each other new players because of top 25 early in season. never heard said "not enough wins"She said the quiet part out loud finally.
Too much having to worry about who, how and when during those early games against ranked opponents and not enough “win.”
That’s the thing I probably like most about Mulkey. She’s got one goal by the time that clock hits 0 and that is to WIN. She’s going to play the best players for that moment to win the game.
Kellie really wants consistency and a set rotation but that’s just not always going to happen. Sometimes you’ve just got to get out there and win with the pieces you have, however you need to. Can’t always be predictable, that’s her analytical math brain getting in her own way sometimes.
I really hope Pissott works on her defense and the staff plays her at the 4. She doesn’t have the lateral quickness to defend guards but would make a perfect stretch 4 with some muscle building this off season.
seems Wynn might be staying . if she can relax more in games and shot where she feels good about her shot. see her geting more mins next year. seems the coaches like her defence already. i said striplin a change maybe wynn get a change to show she not as bad as some think on offence.Hollingshed gets herself down and can guard on the perimeter. I don’t think that was explored enough. At her height I was seriously impressed with her ability to keep smaller, quicker players in front.
Didn’t happen much but I remember several times this season players thought they were gonna take Jill off the bounce and she shut them down. If she does get beat she has great length for the block.
I’m crazy but I could imagine Wells, Pissott, Jackson, Hollingshed and Key against some teams. Have Wells, Hollingshed and Jackson guard the perimeter and Pissott and Key in the post. Talk about imposing. That lineup would be massive and actually not that slow.
Jackson showed what she’s capable of defensively in the tournament. That’s part of the next step for her. I was really impressed with her in the Toledo game. That was the best defensive motor and smarts I saw her play with all season. She had Lockett locked down every time she was on her. She has length and quickness and has to use them to her advantage defensively as well as offensively.

Nice Article on Destinee Wells. Father's love, daughter's determination lead to Lady Vols
I enjoy reading the article so much. Make you so proud of the team that Tennessee put together. Keep up the great work. As always go Lady Vol’s.Nice Article on Destinee Wells. Father's love, daughter's determination lead to Lady Vols
View attachment 545863Updated version of the Tennessee roster for next season and beyond. Looks at least according to this site that Tamari has been granted the medical redshirt. Five open scholarships expect to use two for sure and up to four depending on who we get in the portal.
KM teaches her players to be bully’s. Reese uses that elbow to hook players arms. She tried that in Knoxville and got them beat. The girl with the Shirley Temple hairstyle leads with her shoulder all the time and usually gets away with it. There are others. Mulkey wears those outlandish clothes and acts like a drama Queen for a reason. Pat “worked” the referees to perfection. They knew when she was unhappy with them.Pat was demonstrative, but largely composed. Mulkey is over-the-top and melodramatic as hell. Every foul call, she's got that "someone just ran over my dog" shocked look on her face. She sulks and pouts and gestures and wheels around like a stage actor - and it's been obvious for years now that it's all an act she puts on for whatever reason.
Wasn't it the SEC tournament last year where Mulkey went nuts complaining to the refs, to the point she caused them to review a play (that was obviously not in LSU's favor), and while the officials were at the video review, she was caught winking at one of the LSU radio people with a smile on her face? Totally composed. All part of the act.
I know KM respects Pat and I think many Vol fans can respect that about her - but she is still a melodramatic sideshow out there. Again, Pat was forceful, but she was never a carnival barker.
Reese also lunges a shoulder into her defender to get space quite often. And gets away with it MOST of the time.KM teaches her players to be bully’s. Reese uses that elbow to hook players arms. Yes, she does. She also got in the Iowa stars face and exhibited one of the worst examples of sportsmanship that I can remember…….ever!Reese also lunges a shoulder into her defender to get space quite often. And gets away with it MOST of the time.
I'm so glad this site is deciding to take a less racist approach ... That and not calling people out there names
Va_Volfan, I have always enjoyed your knowledgeable and informative posts, though I have noticed that the number of your posts has dropped measurably over the last few weeks. Is that because of the name calling and/or approach that you mention? I’m just an old fogie and some posts cause concern, but I do believe one’s true nature eventually becomes evident. We go through posters who constantly disparage our team and coaches, others who always have to have the last word, and ones who are better coaches than any of ours. All eventually show their true selves. Please do not stay away, but continue to give us your insights and thoughts. My best to you.
