Tennessee Lady Vol News

Yeah that’s why a lot of the other coaches continue to pile it on now. Kellie acts like shes too good to do that. But it’s how it works.

It’s not like the old days where you are just running up the score. Unfortunately it actually benefits you team in the long run and we are not taking advantage. She has been asked about this before and just blows the questions off.
We had a 17 point lead and five six minutes yesterday when we started easing off the gas. Could've been a possible 20 point win or more if we keep them in. Not saying I care to do that, but if that is what you need to make a tourney, which I consider a very bad rule, that is how I would have to play it.

Another consideration is resting legs a little more than halfway thru the season. If crucial players can get some extra rest you kinda want to give it to them. It's a tradeoff with scoring margin for sure.

Yes if the NCAA is using a system where you have to beat teams by 25 to move up in their consideration for the NCAA Tourney when you are in our position all that matter is doing what it takes to make it. I thought I knew what the criteria was hasn't been true. Actually it is more confusing everyday. Vandy is according to Creme and CBS sports more in the tourney than we are by several spots. They have three more wins, but we've beaten them the time we played them, their sos is like 70 to our 14, their rpi is 70 to our 26, we have more Q1 and 2 wins than they do. Hard to figure out how they should be higher even with the three extra wins especially since about 11 of their wins are against some really weak mid major competition.

Back to receiving votes in the AP poll

#30 this week
Should be higher tbh based upon SOS and RPI. That tough OOC schedule has been lamented by some, but I believe it will be a strength when the selection comm seeds teams. What would do wonders now is a win versus a highly ranked team Or a nice SEC tourney run like last year. Either would do the trick imo for a higher seed than many are expecting but which may likely be in the cards.

Received votes! Hallelujah! Baby steps ya'll.
@glv98 I like to look at this as follows: If teams in the top 15-25 today were to play on a neutral court, who would be favored? I suspect the LV’s would be favored over many in that group on a neutral court in spite of not being ranked yet, there is some momentum going on here that should not be ignored, and some of the close losses against top 15 teams that occurred earlier in the season were without Jackson, which will come into consideration, not to mention that Spears has found her footing now.

The brutal back stretch of games this year may not be a detriment as long as the LV’s play well in the tough games, and tbh, they have two opportunities at home versus top tens that could go their way. The SEC tourney is there at the end to make a final statement also. It’s all there in front of this team still if they can play well down the stretch. Coach Jumper was right that it only takes three playing at a high level to do great things, and even WC is correct when he points out that Spears, if she keeps her pace up, and paired with Jackson means anything is still possible. It’s up to them now.

Looks like after yesterday's win we stay at #49 in the NET. Not too much of a surprise given we won the game by about how much we were projected to. Was hoping for a larger win so we'd maybe move up a few spots.

We did move up a couple spots to #26 at Massey, who projects us winning at Alabama (by 1) and Vanderbilt and losing the SC/LSU games. We're at #33 at HHS, who has similar projections for us but losing at Alabama this week by 4.

Mississippi State is at #27 in the NET...would be great for them to move up to the top 25 so we could have at least one NET top 25 win (or for that matter, make sure we beat Alabama, since they're at #28 and could move up as well). Or of course, would be extra nice to upset LSU (#12) or South Carolina (#1).
Yes, during the game I thought about your pregame hope for a win of 20+ points moving us in the right direction in the net. Right when this was looking impossible, we went on a flurry and got a 21-point lead. I was stoked and then the subs played like subs the last couple of minutes and it quickly went back down to a 11-point margin. I had a similar mood swing (up and then down), which perplexed my companions until I grumbled something about needing a 20-point win. My saner mind prevailed and I realized that I was just glad to see a win with some really good offense.

Thanks for the pep talk, it all really does make sense.

But like Creme and the poll voters, I've been burned too often by the inconsistency of this team. They just can't put together four strong quarters. And occasionally (like TAM) can still string together four horrid quarters. I'm afraid the bad quarter or two will doom us against the better teams. Would love to be wrong.

Next game decides a lot. We win were probably NCAA tourney bound and lose were in a scrum again fighting for a berth. A loss doesn't put us out we still have the games to get in. A win would be Q1 and put us very solidly in the tourney with four remaining home games. A game to really be worried Bama is physical and we can be timid sometime on the road. Need this win and we need to get physical with them even if becomes a foul fest.

People are saying stuff that just isn’t true. First, it’s not playing timid if the officials allow contact and you’re getting hack on your shot but they aren’t making the call. The moment our players play through the contact they call an offensive foul… it happens time and time against Striplin and Tamari Key.

So what do you want them to do? I haven’t seen anything that suggest Alabama is a physical team. I haven’t seen anything to suggest Tennessee plays timid on the road. They got terrible calls against Ole Miss. A player told the media during a game interview that MOST of the team was sick during the Texas A&M game with the flu and they had traveling delays. Those are the only two SEC losses on the road.

We don’t have to make up a narrative about the team before every game just to get a few likes smh.

That player was RJ and she stated in the post game interview with SECN that it’s flu season. Not that “MOST” of the team was sick. Edie was the only player not dressed. Here is the quote from Kellie to Maria…since you like to boast Twitter. No need to spin a loss when it’s seen and recorded in real time. Team still bigger than one player or is this a switch? Could just be making up a narrative.

Rarely does just one player on a team get the flu. People commonly call a stomach bug the flu, so we can't even be sure if she was talking about that or actual influenza.

Two names in lady Vols Facebook groups
Aubrey Beckham
Janina's Williams
Anybody know anything about those two.?
Not read all recruiting threads
So if there's a post already point out what thread.

Didn't Kellie Jollie Tear hers in in late November and was back playing by mid February? Everyone heals and rehabs at different speeds..J S...
She had a donor person donate her knee legmen t.
Done tried to tell story let someone with better medical unstanding they the lead.

The playyears and Maria said the team some had the flu.
