After looking at the rosters the only team you would worry about is UConn who had six injured and will get them all back along with most of the ones playing now. I am not sure Clark is leaving Iowa this season sure don't need the money and may want another season of college. Louisville loses a lot don't have much coming in so portal is their thing as well.
We could potentially put Key, Hollingshead, Puckett, Spear, and Cooper on the floor next season which is a good lineup that could compete with a Clarkless Iowa and Louisville, but not what UConn will have next season.

We don’t know what our roster will look like yet, we need to go and get more starters, if we come back and these players are starting that means we struck out in the portal. I would say we need 4 starts but I’ll be ok with 3, and long as it’s a Pg, Sf and a Center.

I guess you could say anybody want to play in this get in the portal and come to Tennessee. Looks like were only playing one game vs UConn and Louisville will take on Iowa.

This is an interesting year for portal recruitment since the current seniors are the last players who have a COVID year available. Any other incoming seniors can only come if they are graduate transfers (unless they don't mind paying out of pocket for an extra year to get their undergraduate degree). So it will be sophomores ready to make a jump or disillusioned freshman who feel like they've made a huge mistake as the options for transfers who would be available for more than 1 year.

Jeff and Brenda are likely to be all over the portal as well. Them + Tennessee will basically look like a mid-major All Star Team at this rate.

Iowa is well coached and always has been. They lack talent but will always be a tough team.

They will be back to average after CC and Bluder knows that. Just how it goes.

I agree with this and the more I think about it, the more it might not be as crazy to play in this as it initially looks.

Assuming (big assume, I know) CC moves on, Iowa is much less potent next year.

Louisville is always a rotating door with the portal anymore so that's a big question mark.

UCONN are what they are but have been on a downward trajectory themselves for a bit now...of course there are injuries but I have a hard time picturing next year being a sudden throwback to the glory years for them. With Geno alluding to single digit number of wins left he might hang it up after this year. I feel like this was the year he was squeezing out one more in the hopes of a healthy team for Paige's senior year and look how that turned out.

So worst case, UT loses on national TV to a highly ranked team. Not exactly new news, very likely to actually happen tonight. But, a win in that venue and showcase...could be a huge boost. Worth the risk or something that happens seasonally anyways? Maybe...

Let's just not lead into this event with a handful of ranked teams to play right beforehand...clear the schedule, cupcakes for 2 weeks leading up to this, just mho

No choice have to get somebody as 2024 has 8 players leaving after that season. Only one 2025 recruit so even if you thought you were getting four more in 2025 class, which hasn't been the case the last two seasons, you have to load up what portal players you can get. We'll have fifteen players on roster next season. That meaning if Kellie is still here. If someone else everything changes totally. You could have transfers out in that situation where your not expecting that with her return.

Fairly certain we'll see Cooper five star, Spear, Puckett, Boyd, Hollingshead, Wynn, Striplin and Wells back next season. So if you could add three really good players to them you should have a decent team. Boyd and Cooper gives us more speed. A couple more like them and strong inside player could make you very competitive.

I don’t go on rankings, I go on what I see on film. That’s the mistake people made with Pissot, and that’s the reason I never praised the pickup because I didn’t like what I saw.

3 really good players with one of them elite would be ideal, we might have more open spots is players transfer out.
