Tennessee Lady Vol News

Spear and Jackson have to be on their A games in the big dance. Everybody else has to elevate their game. That means moving to open areas and attacking the glass and blocking out. Good passes, Spear and Jackson need to take it to the basket. Then hit the pull ups. They have to win their matchups and then get everyone else involved. The others can’t become standing spectators.Got to hit our open looks off penetration.

By this time in the season, Jackson’s and Spear’s roles are well defined. JP seems to step out of her role often. I have a lot of faith in that young lady. Kellie must connect with JP.

I like the way they have used Key and Hollingshead lately as the five players. Think they should be using Puckett and Striplin at the four the same way.

CBS bracket man thinks we fall all the way to a 9 seed.
Eh, a high 7 or lowest 6 is most likely.

Although people are hollering a #6 so fans would go to Raleigh to see Lady Vols which makes sense. But if it's a #7 seed and in Austin to play in the Texas pod, I believe as many Lady Vols fans travel there as well.

Distance isn't an issue with individuals that go to the games.

Distance is an issue for me. If I can drive in half day or so I'm going. Not going to fly. Too expensive.

Strip is not quick enough to guard out top. Sara really isn't either..
A four usually doesn't guard out top. Especially in the matchup zone defense we've been playing lately. Three out front and two closer to the basket. We've been using Sarah to play the three some and she should play the four.

Sarah did play excellent defense on Nye in that second Bama game. Best defense I’ve ever seen her play. It affected her offensive game a bit because she was giving max effort on defense but it was nice to see she is capable of doing so if she puts her mind to it.

Eh, I’ve already texted my husband that if we were to play in NC (and cost is reasonable) we should go. It’s an easy enough drive. Going to Austin though is a hike, and flying feels cost-prohibitive. Anecdata though, I know 😉

The defense overall has really improved. We held Sc to 74 and three of them shouldn't have counted, double dribble, and your usually in the game 60's or low 70's..

If they somehow place us in Storrs, I'll be there!

Here's the JP podcast and it's awesome. Taped before the SEC tourney which is good. JP's thoughts on the Legacy and Pat are so moving and well stated, she should be a brand ambassador or recruiter for the LVs. She wants to be Andrya Carter, they all do, but she is so
articulate she may well do it. She's a cook, and she wants to go to China.

Also the interviewer is very, very good. I've seen her around UT media but not sure of her name.

You don't fly? I'm going on vacation for the next two weeks Monday night so hopefully Tennessee will be around for the Final Four when I get back!
I fly alot. The no fly rule is for traveling to LV games. Yesterday we were talking about LV fans traveling to games and someone said distance is no object. It is for me; I only travel to games if can comfortably drive to. Rule lifted for final fours.

Have a great vacay!
