Tennessee Lady Vol News

Maybe a Herd fan would be willing to share with us what Jenna Burdette's in-game personality is like. My early impression, based completely on ONE workout video in which she was asked by Kim if she had anything to say and Jenna had no desire whatsoever to speak -- that maybe she's more low-key than Kim.

If she is super low key, my guess is Kim would go with Gabe as a temporary stand-in since he is very outgoing and more likely to not change the energy of the bench TOO drastically in her absence. I suspect the pace and substitution pattern will mean the head coach will be super active and involved. A more reserved person who sits the whole game might project the wrong vibe.

Herd fans? Is Jenna an active talker, or more of a quiet observer? TIA.

Jenna knows Kim’s game better than anyone. She often runs the timeouts unless there’s something critical to be discussed. But in terms of knowing what Kim expects. Jenna knows. She knows what Kim expects of this offense.

Thanks. I guess, though, that only partially satisfies what I'm curious about in Burdette. I assumed she'd know Kim and understand her expectations better than anyone else based on her experience coaching with her.

Specifically, what is her sideline energy level? Is she up and talking and motioning and being energetically contagious in a positive way? Or would she be more like Michael Cooper was for the Sparks back in the day, only ever getting up or talking to the team during time outs? That may be unanswerable since maybe noone has seen her coaching the floor during the game, not just communicating during time outs.

Lots of energy there!

I absolutely love the energy she fills that gym with! I don't know what'll happen anytime soon with recruiting, but *I'm* sure as heck ready to go play for her!

But seriously, like ttharpe said, she's so detail-oriented, and that's a huge advantage for players to have a coach like that when learning a new approach to the game. And I can already tell her confidence is going to result in more confident players.

I'm sitting here trying to think of something I don't like about her from all I've read, heard and seen since she was hired up to now and, I gotta tell ya, I can't think of a single thing. In my book, she has had the perfect honeymoon period. It'll be late December, early January before I'll start assessing this LV marriage. 😀
