Still a ways to go but right now Danny White is looking like some kind of genius in hiring Kim Caldwell. He is far from a genius when it comes to picking out clothes to wear. He could use a lot of help there, but this coaching hire thus far has been awesome. She is relentless will have this team ready for the tournaments. They are getting better every game. They just need to lock in for 40 minutes.

It is going to happen to every team. A win is a win just win. I was in beatdown mode last night however been going down there and losing for a while. Thank you Kim for stopping that terrible happening.

Knock off the clothing bit. I never heard this about Joan. OTOH, anything for a laugh, I guess. Even my buddy @Lucy goes in for this laugh line. I'm a big DW fan.

Boyd, Plowman, and White is a hellva team to have at the top, and it shows.

I'm suspicious that the NCAA is pissed they can no longer pick winners and losers by deciding whose violations to ignore and who to persecute. Not sure they aren't intending to cause a CF. They want fans to be fooled into calling for them to regain control. The problem with regulating is finding a just and even-handed judge and popo. It's not a question of if regulation would help. It is a question of who can be trusted to do it. The NCAA is a long-time crooked and corrupt cop.

We might might profit from the rule with the LVs. I'm not knowledgeable enough to predict that.

The game has become so physical. In the “old days,” I know players suffered injuries but not as often as they do now? My point is that scholarships should be increased by 2-3 to account for teams with so many injuries that it negatively impacts their play. With 5 years of eligibility, teams would have more time to become cohesive and have a large enough squad to substitute if there are significant injuries. Also, players have more time to earn NIL.

I’m looking forward to the game as well. To be honest, I’ve watched different games to try to see what certain people including a few casual LV fans that are calling Oklahoma a Top 5-10 team are seeing from this team.
One LV fan was on social media talking about how Oklahoma is so physical and their bigs being this major factor but I just don’t see it in a team that allowed Duke to score 109 points.
Iowa post players in my opinion are better than the post players on this Oklahoma team.
I even went back to watch last season’s game against them in which four of Oklahoma current players were starters in that game.
I think two things would have to happen either Tennessee would have to be off or certain players get into foul trouble early in this game for the LVs to struggle to beat Oklahoma.
Even if Oklahoma played a solid game and we have a solid game then Tennessee wins be a good margin.

This is a young lady I expect to be in the portal. 6’4”, athletic, moves well. Blocks shots with ease, good defender in the paint and improved offensively averaging almost 13 a game for Arizona. She grabs 6.8 boards a game which could be better. She’s got a little more meat on her bones than Zee and will bang in the paint on both ends.

She would be a nice portal get for us if she does enter, she is only a sophomore. I expect Arizona to have several leaving again this season.

Over Christmas, I wished everyone a Merry Christmas on another Lady Vol site. Weirdest thing, a player from I believe North Carolina liked my post and sent me a friend request. I don't interact with players, especially young ones because i find that weird and we can leave that to the stalkers on this page. Anyhow, she sent me a friend request on Facebook. I think alot of players are looking at the Lady vols right now because of the style of play and the unexpected winning streak. I think this kid was a top five recruit in her class is like 6-3 and plays to the arc. Seems to be a pretty good player. Last name is Toomey.

Yes they have two players I think we look at if they enter the portal. Toomey and Thomas are both great, young posts. Toomey has a really nice shot, needs to rebound better. Thomas is a little more physical and has great mobility at 6’5”. I think she may be injured at the moment but not sure what the injury is.

Thomas was almost a Lady Vol and her brother went/goes to school at UT I think. I do suspect UNC will have some transfers. They have been better than I thought they would be this season but the players don’t look like they’re having any fun.

Silva at Kentucky is also a really nice player but I don’t necessarily see her going anywhere unless she decides she doesn’t want to play behind Strack for most of her career.

We definitely have people’s attention!

I agree. I think a lot of the increased physicality is a by product of the speed at which the game is now played.
