Tennessee Lady Vol News

Good to see she ain’t bringing her baby to practice lol that baby doesn’t need to be outside yet! That was a great read. Can’t wait for her to hit the podcast trail(🤞🏿) to hear more from her after postseason. I think she’s super likable and that could help win over these younger players.

S/N Players who remain on campus in the offseason should think about hosting a biweekly one with the coaches(and former players) to talk about the season as well as their offseason and development. The conversations with former players could be a bridge to past generations and keep certain rivalries fresh. And again, it helps branding and marketing while also strengthening their chemistry and understanding of players/coaches perspective outside the gym
U R 1000%. I hate seeing tiny babies out!

There is no need to bring a fresh baby to a basketball practice or game surrounded by all those germs! Their poor little immune systems. If Kim feels she needs to be there (and I hope she doesn't feel pressured), I hope between family, friends, and the University they have been hooked up with great childcare.

Some Rickea highlights from unrivaled tonight. She is so dang good.

I also couldn't help but envision her is CKC's system - and I truly believe she'd average no less that 25 ppg.

HER.

Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn the first half, but unstoppable the second half. Looks to be in great physical shape, unlike some others last night who looked heavy and slow. She covers that compressed court in about 3 gazelle strides.

Commentators said she'd been tearing it up in the preseason scrimmages. Still needs to work on the one on one D as always. Phil Handy is a great coach for her.

Not sure how well RJ would have done in the current LV system. See tweet above, she's a total rhythm player and generally HATES being subbed out, esp when she gets hot. Not as big an issue being subbed for in 3 x 3, but would need a total mindset change to accept being subbed for every two mins in 5 v 5. Sure wish she would have had the kind of scoring help and pg help the current LVs have though.

Bet they could provide a world class nursery across the street in Pratt and could detox before leaving FCC/TBA. Would venture a guess 500 Volunteers would answer a call to serve as baby sitters from the student body. Bet my Fr granddaughter, with a long history of early childcare, would walk a few blocks from her housing to answer a call. Maybe get some out of the premed folks. No problem finding a responsible VILLAGE to help out. Just pipe the Jumbotron feed over there.

Counterpoint, frequent subbing would help her manage her asthma.

Suddenly our only Q1 win is Richmond at #32 (neutral #1-35 is a Q1 win). Florida St. dropped to #28 (needs to be top 25 to be a Q1 home win) and Iowa dropped to #37 (needs to be top 35 for a neutral site win).

Vanderbilt, at #22 today, would certainly be a Q1 road win and I would think it should stay that way (they need to stay in the top 45).

Unfortunately this is why that OU game was so important. Dead horse but that was a frustrating loss. Iowa will continue to drop, their season is cooked.

Q1 wins will certainly be important to get that home court in the NCAA Tourney. It won't affect getting in the tourney. I look at our schedule and am beginning to think that 9 and 7 may be our SEc record. Today road in a game where they are playing well. Then Texas road, SC home. LSU road it is like half the conference is top 20 Q1.

That’s the spirit!

I take ratings and rankings with a grain of salt. They might play a part in determine our tournament seed, but have nothing much to do with how good or not good our team is. If we can get at least a 4 seed in the NCAA, we’ll be seeing the Sweet 16 at the very least. I have higher expectations, though. Every game, the team comes more together. And when they keep the pedal down, they can go to the Final Four this year.

I agree. She’s a smart player in addition to having skills and athleticism. Rhythm….our team has rhythm. It’s just not old fogey rhythm.
