Tennessee Lady Vol News

The Pauldo twins and their nationally ranked team Morris Catholic has beaten every top HS recruit they’ve faced out of the NJ area in the last two years.
That includes Blakes at Vandy and Miller at Rutgers.
The twins also have beaten Top 20 guards in the SEC - ACC currently at South Carolina and NC State among others.
Then you have Deniya Prawl who plays for IMG Academy who is a special player. Jaida Civil who is a special player.
No teams next season with this incoming freshman class and the returnees will won’t to face Tennessee.

We’re still gonna have work to do in the portal. I’m excited for the freshman class but freshman are freshman. There will be a curve for some of them.

We really need to find a quality post player with imposing size who can get up and down. Another very athletic forward who will rebound would be great too. We need a center and a player like Morrow or Pierre with a motor on the glass.

Latham could be that player but we haven’t seen any of that from her this season. I really thought she would be a better rebounder for us.

You are beating a dead horse. The head coach has said they will complete the roster via the portal.
You tell me how can a player averaging 13.5 minutes per game could average more than the nearly 4 rebounds per game than Latham is averaging?
If Latham played more minutes she would produce.
No post player is featured in this system. So what you probably should realize is no matter what post comes from the portal they aren’t going to build this team or play through the paint.

Why are you so prickly? Just making conversation. Get a grip.

We need defense and rebounding in the post. Playing through the post isn’t a priority.

Would Latham get more minutes if her play was more efficient ?

Naw you got to toughen up this is real dialogue.
Don’t speak on the situation unless you want to hear the truth.
Answer the question, what player could average more than nearly 4 rebounds in this system playing 13.5 minutes per game?

A good talk about fouling as we did commit 22 fouls to texas 10. We also have lost a couple of games to foul shooting. I know there are more things to fix, but less fouling and better free throw shooting and getting to the line seem to be a couple things we should get rather easy. Defense we don't have a clue how to close the gaps and players are driving a straight line to the basket on us. A ways to go just keep getting better.

Although sometimes I think you forget that you’re just a poster on this forum as well, let’s keep this discussion rolling!

Well here’s the point.
Latham plays about four minutes less than Puckett and averages the same amount of rebounds.
Latham plays about five or six minutes less than Spearman and averages about two less rebounds.
To me, this suggests if you played both Latham and Spearman together for about five minutes more a game instead of subbing one for the other it’ll improve the teams rebounding and defense. Also the liability is playing a four guard lineup with Spearman, Puckett, or Hollingshead in the post. Get away from that philosophy and the rebounding and defense would improve.

You need some help. If you get this upset about opposing point of views.
Going to the extreme on a message forum is really a character flaw.
Every point I’ve made is clearly presented. If you can’t present a clearly stated opinion that’s your fault.
0% upset. We don’t even have an opposing view, you just lack reading comprehension and stay pressed.

Halfway thru, and here's the SEC standings. The good news is it's not near as bad as it looks for us. Almost everyone we're in contention with for the 4th spot and the opening round bye has way harder remaining schedules than us.
Here's the remaining scheds. KY is in for a wake up call. Also Ole Miss has all the biggies left.
OK - @lsu; KY; @Ole Miss; Auburn; @Mizz; Vandy; @Arky; @Fla; Alabama
KY - Ala; @OK; @Ole Miss; Texas; GA; @Mizz; LSU; TN; @So Car
ALA - @KY: GA; FLA; @ Miss St; TAM; @TN; Aub; LSU; @OK
OM - @GA; @Vandy; OK; KY; Arky; @TN; Mizz; So Car;
VANDY - @Fla; Ole Miss; @TX; Miss State; @Aub; @OK; So Car; TAM; @Mizz

LADY VOLS - @Mizz; @lsu; Aub; Ole Miss; Alabama; @Fla; @KY; Georgia.

IMO our sched is by far the most favorable. The home games against Ole Miss and Alabama are going to be huge towards our chances of finishing 4th. Plus of course also determined by the thousand things that can happen in all the other games. Looks like 10-6 could take 4th place.

I wish to hell UConn wasn't stuck in the middle of our crucial conf stretch like a freaking sore thumb. Screw history or the good of the game at this point.. IHaving them on Thurs gives us a short turnaround to our game at LSU that Sunday.

Oh, they won't alright. They won't want to face the resurgent Lady Vols team that's on the verge of taking the SEC by storm.

On the flipside, a win against UConn could propel us with momentum going into the LSU game.

I also worry when we beat up on a team that we are a little flat in our next game, so I agree. Hopefully we are sharp for UConn and then bring all that focus and practice to bear on LSU at their home court.

Unfortunately, CT's conference schedule is such that Auriemma probably hasn't had to spend more than 10 minutes of their practice time on preparing for it, so I imagine they've been focusing completely on Tennessee and South Carolina for weeks. Those are the games that matter to CT, not games like Butler, St. John's, Providence that they don't even have to watch film for to beat like a drum.

On the other hand, South Carolina and Tennessee have both had to take it one game at a time. The prep time Kim and Dawn have for CT is pretty short.
