Tennessee Lady Vol News

Tennessee stays at 15 in the newest AP poll. Lots of movement above us but the biggest shock for me is UNC moving up to 9! Is it time for me to stop hating on that team? Lol

I think they’re getting the benefit of being second in the ACC which is usually a good conference. As a whole I think it is way down this season though. There have been a lot of transfers OUT of the ACC into the SEC and Big 10 in particular. The caliber of players isn’t quite the same.

Half our team is made of ACC transfers with Spear, Spearman, Whitehorn, and Strickland all coming from that conference. Lots more on other SEC teams like LSU, Texas and Vandy.

North Carolina is not a Top 10 team.
I saw what UCONN the best team they face did to UNC this season.
Tennessee is the team these AP voters think Ohio State and North Carolina are.
GBO!

They only won by 11, tho. We beat UNC by more than that in our preseason matchup, it was 17, I think?

Plus, UConn just blew out USC, but I don't think that means USC isn't the top 3 in the SEC necessarily.

Altho, notably, Tennessee increased by 38 points, going from a very weak 15 (15.8 ranking per pollster) to a middle 14 (14.5 rpp); it's just that there's a traffic jam from 16th to 8th; the 8-rank division between Ohio State at 8 and Oklahoma at 16 is actually only 5.5 ranks worth of points separated; Ohio State being given 9.9 rpp, and Oklahoma having 15.4.

After Oklahoma, the drop in points is pretty sharp for West Virginia at 17. Tennessee and Alabama, tho only 3 places apart, themselves hav about 5.5 ranks worth of points separating them. (mid 14 vs high 20)

Didn't know where to post this but wanted to solicit opinions from folks who have attended the SEC tourney before. Should we buy session passes or buy the "all access" GA book that is apparently seats behind the hoops? What have yall done in the past for tickets at the SEC tourney that you liked?

PS- I may be describing the two options entirely wrong because they were told to me by my partner as I was trying to work, so I am not sure how much I fully understood lol.

My strategy is to buy the much cheaper general admissions for the first couple of days bc no one cares where you sit. So you can sit right behind your team's bench. Then buy actual seats for the semis and finals. That's when the So Car horde arrives for the weekend and takes all the fun out it. I buy seats for those days on resale through ticket master. They'll have lots of seats available fm fans of teams who have gone home by then

Or if all that sounds like too much trouble, just buy the all access, and still sit w the LV folks the first couple of games.

Thank you!!

Last year's team finished with a 10-6 SEC record and tied for fourth in the SEC.

Currently, the Lady Vols have a 4-6 SEC record and are currently 9th in the SEC standings. What kind of final conference record/standing do you guys project for this year's team?
This year and last year's SEC teams are vastly different.

Unless the Lady Vols win the natty Kim Caldwell won't win NCOTY, but this is definitely a legitimate "it's an honor to have just been nominated" situation. What an accomplishment to even be mentioned! Wow!
Yes! This is amazing.

She also spent the first two months of the season carrying baby Conor ♥️

I'm getting to this a few days late (and saw the post because somebody else quoted it today), but this is such a disingenuous tack to take.

I’ve thought it should be in Nashville. Much bette city for travel.
Nashville is a lot more expensive trip. Hotel and parking prices are through the roof. Greenville and Little Rock have been much cheaper. I much prefer Greenville. Nice town with good restaurants. Nashville is just too crowded for my taste. Best thing about going to Nashville is getting to go to Loveless Cafe.

We have been going to the tourney for so long, we get in on the early purchase plan. We get to buy our tickets a week or two before they are open to the general public. We buy the ticket books so we know where we are sitting for the best games. They give us the option to purchase the same seats every year which I do. Everyone we have met and befriended in the past know where to find us and say hello. Hope you have a great time at the tourney.
