Certainly gets a pass in year one with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma league got a lot harder. Scheduling us to play LSU twice was not helpful either. Still no reason to lose today for any reason. It affects everything and next year becomes a big season for Caldwell she has to go in the right dierction or were again in that situation of concern over where the program is heading. She really needs to see if she can figure a way to beat Arkansas and Vandy that is where we are this season at this point.BTW, Kellie Harper's worst conference record in her tenure was 10-6 --- Caldwell's 8-8 is the worst since Holly Warlick went 7-9 in her last year
I am believing we are becoming way to predictable and teams know every play we run and also are willing to pack it in and make us take threes. 3 of 19 first half not going to beat anybody unless your a super defensive team like Texas.
Plus if you end up taking 19 threes and make three that is 9 points on 19 possessions. That is not going to win unless you can play defense which we can't we always have a break down on assignments and are giving up a lot of layups. That’s my take mostly. I think we’ve been scouted hard at this point and did not adjust. Ruby in particular. Teams picked up the scout on her about a month ago and she never adapted. She has one intention when she gets the ball:drive the right side of the lane. If that is taken away she is turnover prone and can’t score.
Baiting Cooper into taking 3s and she has obliged.
Spear is the only player who adapted. Teams are running her off the three point line but she has made them pay at the rim and at the line.
I think this is exactly right. Spear's development and diversification of her offensive game has been a bright spot at the end of this season. I also think in general, Spearman has adapted well and is less likely to get baited into taking an early shot-clock 3-pointer than she was earlier in the year, and she has enough different moves she can make that she's pretty tough to score against, especially when she's patient. That’s my take mostly. They are playing elite considering how we are playing mauled Missouri today by over 40 while we had to scrape by with a 7 point win. They are far better than Georgia so It appears we either got to wake up a lot of lose to them again.Vanderbilt isn't playing elite. Who have they beat that's elite?
