Tennessee Lady Vol News

What’s funny is UConn fans are not like this at all
AT ALL ! Will talk big $#!+ about basketball but for the most part have respected our program!
They know what it takes to win a lot of championships. SC doesn't.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I believe the majority of true UConn fans view the Lady Vols with respect. A lot of us know we wouldn't be where we are without UT and Pat. I wish that we could be rivals like sister programs. Each wanting the other to do well, but then wanting to demolish the other head to head.

Maria Cornelius posted this in Positive Lady Vols. Hopefully, this will answer some questions.
“Rae Burrell. One, there's no update. Two, team is on the road. Three, Tennessee's policy is to not release injury updates. A head coach can address it at a media availability. Next availability for Kellie will be Friday night after the game (assuming a Zoom can be set up on the road for media back home).
There is also nothing to be read between the lines here. We know she needed diagnostic tests based on what Kellie said after the game and that need has been publicly reported. We don't know when the tests occurred or the results. Those results, when available, will be released to staff, player and parents first. And a player has the right to authorize or not authorize any medical news. A program also can opt to release few details. (A year ago, Keyen Green had a lower leg injury per the official release. It didn't say knee.)

We just wait until we have the answer. No one has any valid information none has been released.

Didn't it turn out to be an ACL? All was ever stated was lower leg injury and out for season.

I think it may become very common for players to not disclose at all. Stanford has moved to this model. They don’t even say what part of the body. Tara just says “she’s out indefinitely” when pressed she says that’s the players business.

Having an ACl could hurt players pro chances, and their endorsements. Since the change last season that is why I think more and more players won’t announce their injury. It could literally hit them in the pocket. What if she’s working a deal with a sneaker company right now? They might drop her because she can’t play this season now.

A lot more factors to consider.

They can justifiably hold out info on us, but not on sponsors and most certainly not on pro scouts. I don't think anyone is drafted without a thorough physical assessment. An ACL could indeed hurt a player's chances but not because of when the general public finds out about it,

No reliable word yet. I maintain the longer it goes without update, the greater the chance of a bad outcome. If it were good news we'd know by now.

This is exactly correct! My sentiments exactly especially with Rae being pegged as a possible lottery pick. She may not want to hurt her chances or have any scouts be skeptical on her ability and pass her up. Stanford is the model for this with Haley Jones her freshmen year she tore her ACL and they never reported it til she recovered and came back better the following season. Sad fact is a lot of players dont comeback the same from an ACL so it def hurts their future if the rehab is not motivated.

All I think were going to get on Rae is either the announcement out for a certain amount of time like 2 to 4 weeks or out for the season. Somebody is going to ask that question tonight after the game for sure.
