The key is your own comment, "Stanford's ability to exploit ..." Stanford had the ability and not every team is going to have the ability of the #2 team in the nation. Some teams may try and that may open up other options for the LV offense. that's why there are coaches with detailed game plans to prepare of options and counter measures and there are fans with opinions.

Against ETSU and the dregs of the SEC it doesn't matter, but the better SEC teams will be able to take advantage. Darby simply isn't an SEC player. She can't shoot, rebound, pass, or guard anyone. Kellie starts the game 4 on 5 with her in the lineup, it's mind-boggling...

Other than that, she's got game, right? I wonder if its Puckett. Maybe she is just better coming off the bench after watching a couple of mins. Can't fathom otherwise why Darby would continue to start or play equal mins.

Puckett is adapting to her role. I expect that when Rae comes back, she will take back most of Darby's minutes along with the starting spot and take some minutes from several others. But I expect Puckett will keep her role and most of her minutes.

Exactly, Sarah is an excellent sixth man. It will all make more sense with Rae. Kellie has sorta used Tess as a place holder. I think we are running a lot of the same actions we will run for Rae. Tess just can’t get open as well as Burrell. Rae has a very quick trigger on her shot that makes her tough to guard.

Can’t wait to see her in action again, hope she’ll be fully healthy by March!

Puckett should absolutely be starting in her place. She's clearly the best shooter on the team with Rae out, why not put her with the starters to help space the floor? Wynn should be getting Darby's minutes off the bench. Even with her freshman warts, she's already the better player and she has an exponentially higher upside.

I don't know what incriminating photos Darby has on Kellie, but by any objective measure she should be sitting at the end of the bench with Rennie and Saunders...

There are reasons I don’t have Dearth blocked. Within his exceptionally rude posts there sometimes Is a bit of merit to his opinion for one. But, the main reason to keep him unblocked is the rare bit of snarky humor in his posts such as this.

She had many players who were not highly ranked. And several excellent players got away from her. Jennifer Azzi from Oak Ridge, for example.

All teams have their share of unranked players.

The question posed was did Pat ever win a NC without having a HS superstar on her team. Certainly not the last 5, and there were probably no players rankings/stars for the previous titles.

Well, according to you, she only has mid-major players left on the bench after playing Holly's recruits. So, which one of Kellie's mid-major recruits would you rather see play than Darby? Step up, Coach. Tells us who should play in her place.

No one has that I know of you can get it done with a couple having four of five is ideal. Arizona came the closest to doing it last year.

Have to agree with most of this statement other than maybe a couple of games it has been totally true. We'll see what happens going forward, but a couple of other players deserve some minutes every game going forward and based on stats alone this is where you'll find them.

Yeah, I know. That was Sisaq that claimed that Pat didn't need 5-star players to win.

Maybe TAMU might have been the exception in 2011. I don't know the HS profile of their players, but Danielle Adams was an AP All-American, and Sidney/Sydney both played a couple of years in the WNBA.

Yeah, if Darby is still playing 20+ min/game by March, then this team is in trouble. She will stick out like a sore thumb vs. most of the SEC teams.

darby would have started opener for horston . rae not hurt she had one start. darby will have less time when burrell gets back. but i still see darby has more upside. she has improve alot this season. not saying she has more upside than wynn. do not think she bench warmer either.

What was the criteria back then for determining which HS players were a superstar or not? Maybe she was getting the best HS players, even if there wasn't a "Hoopgurlz" rating agency to rank them. It's irrelevant to compare recruiting in WCBB in the 80s to today because the environment is completely different.
