Tennessee Lady Vol News

Joan could schmooz with the best of them. She worked the high end part of the crowd at every game. You could see the money levitating out of donor pockets with every step.
She also, as AD for the Lady Vols alone, was able to get things done for women’s sports that would have never happened had women’s sports been under the overall AD. Pat got the majority of the praise for putting WBB, and also women’s college sports, on the map but Joan was a huge part of successfully lobbying for money for women’s sports. The UT women’s athletic department was way ahead of its time and was an important part of the vehicle Pat drove through a lot of locked doors.
Joan Cronan LVFL!
Thanks a lot for the education. In the time this was happening, I'd say a majority of us, didn't have access to the online information we have today. It's good to know there was another motivated and great woman behind the greatest women's college BB coach of all times!!!

Caldwell has a great personality, and she has confidence. Geno and Staley have it also. That is a huge drawing card, and the best coaches use that. I think Mulkey has lost the personality part and Caldwell will easily fill that void. The history of Tennessee WBB and Caldwell's presence is going to be a problem moving forward for the SEC opponents. She doesn't coach 'afraid' like Warlick and Harper. That is a huge reason to hire outside. The former alumni are under so much pressure and most of that they put on themselves. Caldwell just came out swinging.

We dropped one spot in the NET to #12 (swapped places with WVU). Florida St. moved up a spot to #23 so looking like that should hold as a Q1 win. Richmond dropped a spot to #33, hopefully they'll win their conference tournament and stay in the top 35.

We dropped 6 spots at Bart Torvik to #18. They gave last night's "game score" a 58/100, by far our worst of the season (previous worst was 80/100 against Memphis, everything else has been 93 or better).

Just by running the numbers I know that they use not knowing everything I would say we are 14 or 15 in the top 16 right now. That number 12 spot was short lived in the reveal. Still win a couple of games we should win we should be safe to host in the NCAA.

If Ole Miss loses to LSU Sunday we,ll be 7th seed. If they win we,re 8th
So, Sec Quarters vs South Carolina or Texas. Depending on whoever is the winner
/loser of the coin flip in either situation. A win vs either helps seeding but I don’t think a loss hurts us either. Just can’t lose in the 2nd round.

Could you pls expound on your statement. I'm sure there are many, like me, that are not familiar with Joan Cronin! I would like to know more about this person.
Thanks in advance!!
You got a lot of answers, but let me add; Joan was great. She was the full package and a huge influence on Lady Vols as well as women’s basketball, and a major player in UT athletics. This link tells a lot, Joan Cronan - Women's Athletic Director Emeritus - Staff Directory - University of Tennessee Athletics.
And, yes, she could bring in the money while she promoted her university and teams. Gosh, she was a great Vol!
