Tennessee Lady Vols Volleyball 2023

University of Texas' volleyball program has a rich history and probably should be considered one of the blue bloods of the sport. Since the 1981/82 season when volleyball moved from AIAW to the NCAA, Texas has won 3 national championships. That puts Texas in the top 5 for championships. Teams with more NCAA championships are as follows:

Stanford (9), Penn State (7), Nebraska (5), and UCLA (4)

There are several programs with 3 national championships along with Texas; however, Texas also won an AIAW national championship so I put them in the top 5.

In 2023 Texas has a record of 24 and 4 with losses to Long Beach, #2 Standford, #11 Washington State and Kansas State.

Admittedly, I have not seen Texas play. Obviously they are very good having won the national championship last year. However, I have seen Tennessee play many times this year. We are also very good! In the re-ranking of the final 16 teams we slotted 9th and Texas is 8th. Looking at common opponents Texas beat Texas A@M 3 to 1 and Tennessee sweep A@M.

Hopefully we have a great match. At a neutral site I like our chances.

Texas has a great team! I had some extra time today and looked at Texas' Roster. These are some players to pay attention to in our match. Texas doesn't have any weak links. We have our work cut out for us but if you want to be the best you have to beat the best.

Hopefully, I copied info correctly.

Wow! No dearth of talent on that roster! Scary….

Texas has 2 service errors this set. UT hanging tough up 12 to 10 in the 2nd set. Torres being hurt would be a huge loss for UT. Ugggh
