Tennessee Lady Vols Volleyball 2023

We’ll find out more about us tomorrow night as the Lady Vols travel to San Diego. The Toreros made the Final Four last year—probably giving Texas a better match in the semifinal than Louisville did for the NC. San Diego is picked to win the WCC again this year, but they have started the season 0-3. A match against Wisconsin in Madison is looming, too. Go LV 🏐
The Lady Vols are a legitimately good volleyball team. They got wins against San Diego and Boston College in the San Diego tournament. Tennessee is ranked 24th in the country. They are going to be a joy to watch this season. You posters on Volnation need to talk and support them more often. They work hard too; just as hard as the basketball, softball and soccer teams.

They are a joy to watch—quite a contrast from this time last year when we were losing to Bowling Green and Colgate. Granberry has really elevated her game as has Pawlik. Torres is what we have been missing on defense. Serving game has improved but still has lapses. The usual holes in the back line are starting to close up. Lovett, Fingall, and Moore can really bring the heat. Kerr has been unflappable. Quick turnaround to have to travel to #1 Wisconsin for a Sunday showdown. Go 🍊🏐!

Wisconsin handled Arkansas fairly easily in 3 sets the next night in the finale in Fayetteville though. For the Lady Vols to win two matches in San Diego on Thursday and Friday nights, then catch a flight to Madison for a matinee today and hang with Wisconsin for 5 sets is very encouraging. Hopefully they can sweep their road matches next weekend in Chicago and Milwaukee.

I will give Eve the benefit of the doubt, but needs to do more than just schedule these teams, she needs to win a few as well.

I watch the Lady VBall team every chance I get. I love them, they are SOOOOO athletic. We have that one hitter that literally puts her entire body into every hit she makes. love watching her play last year and look forward to more this year.

LC really exposed our back row again. Ten service errors were glaring too. Lovett couldn’t get going. These Midwestern teams are always solid and quality tests. LC took us to 5 sets last year in Knoxville. Freshman Plante is going to be very productive. On to Marquette on Sunday…

Has Beeker taken over for the big Polish girl or is she injured?
I haven’t heard what prompted the change. Although Pawlik looked improved, there seems to be no drop off with Beeker in the lineup. She has certainly contributed. It’s great to have options—that stand 6’5” and 6’6” respectively…😉
