Tennessee @ Mississippi State (October 13, 2012)

When did Kentucky come into the picture? Everyone knows it's a crappy place. It's hardly ever full anyway when I go home games. I went to the MSU game last year and it was depressing in it. Got 3 tickets for 20 bucks in the lower section.
Edit: holy crap I have 20,000 posts, where did my life go wrong?

Not trying to be funny, but I honestly thought it was a decent atmosphere, and usually full?

It's generally full from what I hear. I've gone to at least 1 game a year (usually a lot more in the past, just not recently). Last year was the first time when I was genuinely disappointed with the attendence. I'm sure it's good sometimes, but being at Commonwealth stadium doesn't excite me like it should. The tailgating, partying, and just being around people is the fun part for me. When it comes to the actual game, not so much. I only remember 2 or 3 games where I was soooo pumped to be there at a game. One was against la-monroe and we won 42-40 or something. Another when we upset Lsu and another when we upset georgia.

I probably shouldn't have said "its almost never full at home games". Exaggeration fail i guess.

MSU fans, talking trash to Kentucky fans since.. well wait.. don't you have a losing record to them? Billy is starting to rub off on you

So, a direct rebuttal with an actual linked fact(not a Billy fact) and all of a sudden I'm talking smack? Billy isn't rubbing off on anything. I've been nothing but professional in an unprofessional thread.

Record is 19-20... Mullen 3-0... It is what it is.

Even i'm not saying UK is a better football school than MSU. I have no doubt they even and eventually lead the series in the next few games.

Even though you are flip flopping....if you take the lame ass cowbells out of the equation, KY is a better venue to watch a game. Period. The. End.

Cool...

Alot of State people actually really like Commonwealth(I mean, we will be making our 3rd trip in 4 yrs). Paul Jones, the State writer for 24/7 actually calls it his favorite stadium.

I guess I am a bit on edge... this Redmond situation being plastered all over ESPN, with the most ridiculous "reporting" I've seen, has State fans "in the know" pretty pissed off. Then you've got the idiots within the fanbase and on "the beat" that basically go caniballistic at the first sign of trouble and assume we'll get hit with major sanctions(we won't).

Been way too much stuff put in print that is very, very carefully worded to avoid defamation suits that is complete and total crap fit for national enquirer.

State's involvement in the whole situation will likely be over within the next 2 weeks, and we won't be hit with sanctions or probation any worse than South Carolina is currently under. Despite the spin on everything right now, it has been a model for institutional control(granted you hope to avoid idiotic behavior from boosters in the first place). Rogue booster reported and disassociated, assistant turning a blind eye fired, kid likely to serve a short suspension, and likely self-imposed penalties. Not really much to see here.

I just backed you, and you act like that? F U

I wasn't acting like anything.

Really? I guess i'm not a true big blue fan if msu people like the kentucky stadium better. Anyway, I prefer watching it at tv most of the time unless it's a rival.

I guess it just went over your head then?

What is being said about what the booster did for the player? There are people who get weak kneed anytime the NCAA comes calling.

True. I will admit, the Auburn/State game 2 years ago had an amazing atmosphere. One of the best games I've been to. The cowbells make that venue though.

We don't really know yet. All we know(factually) is that State knew of the situation in Feb, self-reported, and disassociated with the booster. Really not much good info out there yet, which is probably why the speculation is running rampant. Crazy that they kept it completely under wraps for almost 6 months. What's interesting is that both State and the NCAA carefully worded their statements to avoid the word "investigation."

On the speculation side..Some talk of minor gifts and a used Mustang... all of which Redmond either allegedly declined or gave back quickly, hence why his actual punishment is not expected to be very severe(still practicing with the team).

Hope a good many of you guys can make it to the game this year. Davis-Wade is a very different place than it was at UT's last visit in 2007. The Auburn atmosphere from '10(Thurs night game) has become the norm, not the exception.

It's a cool transition from bells to yelling in the games now that State fans are obeying the "cowbell compromise." Wish there was a good youtube vid of that, but I can't find one... It's an immediate transfer from an all treble loud to an all bass loud..

Billy's response will go something like this:

The west is far superior y'all.
Dan Mullen is better than Jesus+Fergie.
Our jumbotron is better.
Egg Bowl y'all.
Chris Relf.
Y'all are jealous of our 50,000 cowbells.
Music City bowl domination.
Y'all.
We won baseball
We had first round picks in every sport y'all.

Classic
