Tennessee/Nebraska

Do you mean in terms of what types of football programs we play, or stadium capacity? I don't disagree, but it would be an upgrade from playing at UCONN and at Memphis. I don't think we're in a position to be high-minded about where we travel to right now. I'd rather play the biggest programs for sure, but those teams are nothing to scoff at. We can't schedule an Oregon or Ohio State every year.

Both. Baylor may be approaching a level if success where a home and home might be viable. There's no reason at this point UT should entertain a home and home series with Texas Tech. They've come here in the past with no return game, and I don't see that they've elevated their game to the point that anything should have changed. The list of home and homes in recent memory or are scheduled by UT is Notre Dame, Syracuse, Miami, Cal, UCLA, Oregon, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Texas Tech doesn't fit that list.

how can you be sure? The guys who will be playing in that game are currently in elementary school

Because every other time we have played them we have had them blow us out. 15 years ago, would happen now and most likely in the next 15 years.

Haha. Well, you left off UConn, and I would say Texas Tech is similar to (and currently better than) both Syracuse and Cal.

Alright I'll put an end to my side of the argument. It was just a hypothetical. Didn't mean for it to get out of hand. :mf_surrender:

Having completed our series with Oregon, a great home-and-away series for the fans, one that we have never scheduled, would be the University of Colorado in late September. The Colorado Rockies are absolutely gorgeous that time of year.

Miami and FSU are fine. Baylor and Texas Tech are teams that are beneath UT playing a home and home with. If they want to schedule a game here in Knoxville, great, but we have no business giving teams like that a return game at their place.

You realize Baylor would massacre us if we played this year, right? I don't think we're "above" much of anything right now.

I disagree respectfully with this statement

As much as I wish it wasn't true, it is. Briles would make pretty short work of our D with Bryce Petty and Lache Seastrunk and it would eventually get Oregon-like in its ugliness.

It depends on which offense of ours shows up. The offense that showed up in the second half of the Georgia game that could sustain pretty long drives and keep their offense off the field? Then I could see a win. The offense that showed up against Oregon? It would get ugly quick. Baylor isn't known for playing defense by the way.

If the Second Half Offense that showed up against Georgia had been around all season, we'd be 5-1 with two ranked wins and likely a Top 20 team ourselves. I see the sparks of potential we have on offense, and I want to believe, but this is the same Baylor team that put up 73 points on a pretty damn good WVU team and 35 on Bill Snyder and Kansas State. Matter of fact, they've only scored less than 70 points twice in five games. That's almost unbelievable. Briles just never takes his foot off the gas.

This^, minus the gross. 40's not bad unless you eat like a garbage can.

Spot on. If you maintain a somewhat healthy diet and include some exercise in your lifestyle then it's not something to describe as "gross".
