Tennessee/Nebraska

Not sure if this has been posted or not. But series moved to 2026/2027 to make room for Nebraska and Oregon series.

I'll be dead. 40 is not old. I need this program to get back on it's feet quick so I can enjoy at least 5 more years of winning football. Hopefully another SEC championship.

:lolabove:It's not attaining the age of forty that is the bummer . It is the rapdity with which it gets to 65 that truly sucks.

Well now we've got to schedule someone OOC for 2017 through 2020 before USC in 2021 and 2022.

I would like to see them get a Miami or FL State. Both have openings and it would help Butch get into the Florida recruiting market a bit more.

Someone like Baylor or Texas Tech would be nice, too.

I'd love for us to play Florida state. One of my friends is a big fsu fan. I was looking forward to the Osu matchup in 2018/19 since I live in ohio but no...

IDK about you guys but I'm pretty happy about this. I wanted to go to the Nebraska game as bad as any normal vol fan but look at the facts -
now when we open at Bristol vs Virginia tech we will have a "break game" vs southwest Indiana tech or something with UConn before the 9 game sec stretch. with 9 sec games a tough Nebraska foe with the VA tech game isn't what we need. Nebraska = See you in 2026.

Way politics is, could be playing Southeast North Colorado by then.

It's interesting to see the @Memphis game on the schedule with no game @ Neyland. I'm wondering what the story is there?

I was looking at some other sec school and man some play very weak OOC schedules.

That is something that has long set Tennessee apart from the rest of the conference. We regularly schedule nonconference games with the elite of college football, including Penn State, Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Nebraska. Admittedly, we've pushed the Nebraska series back a decade because of the Bristol matchup with Virginia Tech, and Ohio State backed out of their agreement with us, but the principle is still valid.
