Lots of underestimating going on up in here

do a little diggin on each team. dont just look at the results from last year. analyze their Schedule, attrition, personnel, and other variables. Nobody in FBS lost more than this USU team. Sure, we have questions but they have way more. its really not underestimating. we know they are solid. and who cares what fans believe. They arent the one splaying. the boys will be ready to kick the season off on the 31st.

we hear this same story every yr before we play one these kind of teams.

You can bet that Utah State is going to give us all they've got. If we don't match them at least it could be a brawl, which is exactly what they want. If we get off to a good start we'll cruise.

Their LB's are good 3-4 LB's. Their fans are rightly proud of them. What they fail to take into account is that UT plays against NFL quality LB's in almost every conference game.

UT will probably run right at their best two LB's to keep them honest then wear them out with mid-range passes to TE's and WR's.

I think it would be a mistake to overuse any slow developing play like slot sweeps. I'd stick with plays that set up play action.

I'm with you on this one, yes we should respect their linebackers but I highly doubt they'll be any more talented than the slew of highly talented backs we face 9 to 10 times every season.

We'll have a lot of youth and new faces and some mistakes will be made. They might keep it close-ish for a half, even into the third, but we'll pull away before it's over.

10pts or two scores is accurate IMO. Just saying in general UT St will be a decent little team. They're certainly not UTM, but then again, they aren't a UCLA/Oregon caliber either.

I suspect this game will be similar to Cincinnati or NC State. Plenty of talk pre game about how we will struggle with them, but in the end we will prevail big.

Remember that whole thread about Utah State opening as favorite? Remember when some of us said that wasn't true?

5Dimes put out their early lines today (one of the best offshore sites), and Tennessee is a 7.5 point favorite.

Do you think we cover?

OH hell yes ! With Neyland rockin' 102k how can we lose! It ain't bamer!

In before a couple Utah State posters come in and tell us all how Keeton is going to torch us and that we're ripe for an upset and severely underestimating them. Yeah, we get it. I've been watching this movie for the last several years and it ends the same way every time, even for terrible Tennessee teams.

I have been reading up on the Polynesian football players they like to recruit on the lines, though. Some really fascinating stuff there. I wouldn't mind Tennessee picking up a few of those in the years to come.

You must really like the movie to watch it for several years.

When I watch a movie I have seen a million times and love this is how I handle it: for a couple years I only watch the 2nd half of the movie. then the next couple years I watch the first half. I never watch the entire movie at once. That way things stay somewhat fresh.

Good strategy I guess, but you're missing a lot of football. Plus I'm not sure my heart could handle several consecutive years of only watching the 2nd half of Tennessee games.
