Tennessee passes heartbeat bill, bans abortions for babies with Down syndrome

Not sure why someone would bring a baby with down syndrome into this world..

And at some point Right Wingers have to let this abortion debate go because it does nothing but make you look like fools. Abortions should be your best friends. Most people getting abortions are left wing. More abortions, less natural selection refugees. Dont like abortion? Don't get one. BOOM!! Problem solved.
There’s you a good bit of identity politics and critical theory.

The difference is you see value in ones affiliation. We see value in the entire human species.

With a 6 week old, you’re choosing to see potential value. At that point in time, it has no value other than emotional for the mother and father, and if the mother has no emotional connection to the child, whether it be because of rape or whatever myriad reasons, you’re choosing for her. It doesn’t affect you one bit.

We obviously are not defining value in the same way.

I agree with you on that. We are likely very far apart. I’m just trying to determine why it matters to people not intimate with the situation. They’re not going to help raise the child, yet they want to tell the mother to deal with it.

Not sure what you mean by this. Care to elaborate?
You said you see value in the entire human species. I'm saying while most do see value in the human species as a whole the depreciation of that value far outweighs actual value. Or..more people are stupid morons than aren't stupid morons.

That being said, if someone wants to abort their future kid I don't see the problem with it. It is their choice, not mine. I wouldn't have someone get an abortion unless there was some medical defect (her fault obviously) or it was some one night stand and she sabotaged the condoms in hopes of creating an ubermensch.

There is a reason I've got this coffee cup in my house:

Abortion is detrimental to society as a whole. The effects are not quantifiable or measurable. Abortion is marketed as progressivism but in reality is permissiveness gone wrong. My opinion on individual effects is based on one individual who remains haunted some 40 years later from the choice to have an abortion. Suicides in this country have steadily increased over the years and none of those affected me either but they were detrimental to somebody out there.

So one person you know got to have a choice, but later regretted it and now you want to take away that choice from everyone?

It shouldn’t be a choice to annihilate a developing human. The way you are using choice is a dismissive and casual. “I’ll have sugar in my coffee.” That’s a choice. I’ll end this unique, developing, human life.

The problem with the way your are determining value is that you can’t consistently apply it without horrid consequences.

Are you okay with a woman who was raped to be forced to have the baby?

You mean the less than one percent of all abortions? The overwhelming majority of abortions are due to inconvenience not rape, incest, or life of the mother
Answer the question. It’s all or nothing apparently. You’re either okay with a mother being forced to have a child of rape or your not. Either one.

It's obvious you know nothing about women. Many women who have late periods are not pregnant. Some forms of birth control even stop women from having periods.
You are totally missing what I'm suggesting. I know women can be late or have irregular cycles. My question is if a woman has had intercourse since her last cycle, does a woman not even at least ask herself or have concerns about possibly being pregnant within 6 weeks? Even if a woman has a tendency to run irregularly, you're telling me that thought doesn't cross their minds?

It should.....

They dont want us to live in a world of should's though.

Comes with too much accountability.

I do not support abortions out of inconvenience. I do support them if the life of the mother is at risk, rape, and incest. But again, you are talking about a very small number

They discretely attached it to the budget bill and passed it in the dead of night at 3am like the cowards they are. Bill Lee is a pos.

Forced? A pregnant women will naturally have a baby. There is no outside force involved.

I’m not OK with a mother killing her child. Are you? How your mother became pregnant has no bearing on your value.

Are you going to argue about the 1% of cases (rape and incest) to justify the other 99% ("hit it and quit it", one night stands, regret f%^k, etc)?
I’m fine with all abortions regardless of the reason. It’s not my choice to make and it’s not my place to decide for a woman what she does. You make it sound like it’s all just women whoring around night after night getting knocked up over and over again.
