There will always be some drop back passers, because in the NFL there will always be drop back passers or the need for them. Mac Jones is a drop back passer, the one that is only 1 year removed from winning it all at bama. Just like folks said running backs aren't important anymore was telling a damn lie. There aren't enough running quarterbacks that have the accuracy to fill all teams. To play in the NFL you better be able to stay in the pocket and deliver throws some of the time or you won't make it. What teams prefer is somebody that can do it all, drop back and have some scrambling ability. The most important thing for a quarterback is too process things quickly. If you got a arm and can look off 2-3 recievers and then go back to your first read, you can play in college or pro, drop back passer and all. GBO!!!!As time goes on people will realize the days of the pro style drop back passer are gone. How many drop back passers have made our defense look bad this year? Alabama,Pitt, and Ole Miss all had QB’s that could run at will.
If Hooker is the proto-type and he appears to be then Maurer was MUCH closer than Bailey. And with what we saw from Milton... Maurer would have had an opening. If he failed then he could still hit the portal after the season.
Without regard to your ASSumption that he would not have taken advantage of the opportunity... he would have had an opportunity had he not jumped the gun.
I'm sorry. What? He "isn't that good"? The guy is surrounded by a bunch of C grade players and NOT the talent Young has. If anything, UT defended him as a passer better than ANYONE else. He will be one of the first QB's taken in the next draft....Corral isn’t that good Tennessee made him look like a Heisman candidate
The kid from Pitt is a pocket passer the Vols just allowed him get enough to move the chains.
Bryce Young is far better than both and the closest things to Dual if your picking from the 3.

I don't see a reason that a 3rd string QB would remain 3rd string behind Milton if he can throw it reasonably well.I can’t think of the last time our 3rd string QB was forced into action due to injury
Name them. Mingo was their most talented WR and was already injured. They lost one of their two "good" WR's after that. Their RB's couldn't do anything. Their OL is patchwork.if Tennessee doesent let him run around like he’s playing backyard football he’s pretty pedestrian. They have talent that’s better than “C”.
Wisconsin would be a perfect fit.Bailey is the type of QB that needs a really big and really good offensive line to be successful, IMO. He’s not good enough to beat out what teams like Georgia and Oklahoma have on their roster or coming in, let’s be real. He will end up somewhere like Wisconsin, Northwestern, or TCU. Duke is a good guess.
I think both are gone at season's end.I don't see a reason that a 3rd string QB would remain 3rd string behind Milton if he can throw it reasonably well.
The coaches didn't run Bailey down but he had to be pretty bad in practice throwing the ball to not even challenge Milton. And Milton made the stupidest play since JG's fumble... and Bailey still wasn't a better option.
If he truly can't beat out Milton, he needs to go the FCS routeI don't see a reason that a 3rd string QB would remain 3rd string behind Milton if he can throw it reasonably well.

Corral was their whole offense. It is very frustrating that UT couldn't stop him... but there's nothing "pedestrian" about the guy. UT limited every part of their O except him running it... and they couldn't stop him from running it. But no one else outside of Bama has done even that.
