I don't see a reason that a 3rd string QB would remain 3rd string behind Milton if he can throw it reasonably well.
The coaches didn't run Bailey down but he had to be pretty bad in practice throwing the ball to not even challenge Milton. And Milton made the stupidest play since JG's fumble... and Bailey still wasn't a better option.
Maybe he heard the Rattler to TN rumors and decided he better bail.Caleb Williams (5 star freshman) has been balling since he replaced Rattler, 8 TDS 1 INT.
I dont think HB would even start over Rattler
Maybe Rattler transfers to UT?Maybe he heard the Rattler to TN rumors and decided he better bail.
Hope someone been talking to him on the side about an opening someplace.
I know it was mentioned this was a way to get his name our there early but I also say you can be too early and forgotten even more so with the transfer portal being what it is.
Some better guys are likely to enter
I agree if Bailey truly had a 5 star arm and was a accurate passer he would easily be number 2 even in our offense. For whatever reason he never got going here. But a fast thinker with a very good arm can make it in this offense even if he isn't super fast as long as he is above average speed. Hooker isn't super fast, it takes him awhile to get going. He doesn't have a fast first step. A savvy above average runner with great presence and a very good arm can make it here. We just don't want somebody that can't move it all or is slow. Things happen fast in this league. Being able to process things fast is the most important thing. GBO!!!!I don't see a reason that a 3rd string QB would remain 3rd string behind Milton if he can throw it reasonably well.

I certainly understand the reasons for transferring, especially his. I don't understand the timing of anyone doing it at this point in the season.
This young man is going to destroy us in a game sometime in the next four years. It is the Tennessee way. And heaven help us is Hooker gets injured again and Milton is our ONLY backup. I like Coach Heupel and think he is doing some great things. But this one decision is NOT wise
I agree, you don’t “love” your brothers if you’re quitting on them. What happens if Hooker gets hurt and Milton does his normal thing? We need a 3rd scholarship QB in the mix. At this point, I trust Heupel’s assessment. This kid got beat out by JG…. Enough saidI love the players being able to transfer, they should have that right...BUT, halfway through the season is quitting. You got beat out, finish the season and go wherever you want.
