Why in the world would Memphis come rolling around talking smack the day before they play Louisville?

It's time for MempissCanes to change her pad again. My God, the sheer audacity that UT fans wouldn't kiss Tiger High fans ass on a UT board!!! Stop the presses.

The UT bi-polarity is in full swing I see. Same on the Memphis board, we're just on two different ends.

I hope your manic phase lasts longer than the last one, OrangeBalls.

I love all the Memphis mentions in here. Memphis has beaten a top 10 team this season, UTK may not even have a win over a tournament team. You'd think you guys would've learned from the past seasons and just kept it tight lipped until March.

But I guess January and February are the high-cotton months in Cuonzo's calendar.

Congratulations on being ranked high in the kenpom "polls". I'm sure you'll hang the banner right next to your regular season wins over Florida.

What? It's been almost 20 years since Tennessee went through a season without defeating an NCAA tournament team.

All I know is that we only have one common opponent. Tennessee just shellacked them on their own court while Memphis struggled to gain their first lead until 3/4 of the way through that game and snuck out with a W

We can always count on you to get your panties in a wad at least 2-3 times per season. Tigers got their ass boat raced at home and you're in here strutting like Foghorn Leghorn. Typical and hilarious. If UT fans acted the way you do on a Tiger High board they would be banned. Hell, your obsessed board that talks about UT non-stop rarely allows a UT fan to post. Be grateful that you're even allowed to post your gibberish here.

Like I said, I came to talk about the LSU game. Little did I suspect that I'd stumble across a Memphis thread here.

Not being a smarty pants at all..just curious..was the Memphis fanbase ready to get the pitchforks out after the Cincy loss?

Snuck out with a W. Classic. We beat LSU, you beat LSU. Kudos for you guys for getting on top of them early, but a win is a win. You ought to be thanking Antonio Barton, the same player that a lot of you were throwing under the bus a week ago.

I never said that you won't beat a tourney team, but it's likely that you haven't yet. All the chest thumping seems a bit premature, no?

"Strutting like Foghorn Leghorn". You've lost me here, Champ.

You'd be hard pressed to find a mention of UT on the Memphis boards other than that you just waxed LSU.

Just don't self-inflict the next time UT loses, but I'm glad you're enjoying yourself today.

It is akin to the NC State loss for you guys. No one likes being thumped on their home floor.

Are the fire Pastner chants getting louder? Just interested because I would love to see the drama of him being fired with Pearl needing a job. On the Steven Pearl show this past weekend, Steven was talking about the run Memphis made at Pearl the year before he got fired. He said that they came after Pearl with an insane amount of money.

Barton is not a PG anyway. That is why Memphis fans and even some UT fans were asking how he could be better than Trae when he decided to come. But he is a better alternative to Trae. Trae was not a PG either, but Barton's skillset, attitude, and toughness are a much better fit for this team, and that is why he is better than Trae. It is perfect as he can get 25 minutes a game and let Thompson develop for a year.

I have also heard someone say that Barton is much better with the entry pass into the paint. He understands the angle. Barton takes care of the ball, but because he is not a true PG, he will have some trouble with presses.

Thats exactly what I just said

Not sure anyone has called to fire him. The team is 10-3 with losses to two top 10 squads and a squad on the verge of the top 25. Like the OSU loss, people are more flabbergasted with HOW it happened, and questioning his rotations and gameplanning, etc.

Steven Pearl looks at the world through "pearl colored" glasses. He sort of fails to acknowledge his father's culpability with the whole NCAA thing. While I'd heard from more than one Memphis insider that Memphis offered Pearl a substantial amount to coach, I bet Steven didn't mention how close Bruce was to actually accepting.

Pastner is probably looking at a Sweet 16 this season, if not better and monster classes in 2015 and 2016, so he's not in danger of firing any time soon.

That factors into the rankings. Margin of victory matters.

The facts seem to annoy you

Your initial post said nothing about rankings.

The difference between a 7 point win vs. a 17 pt win in Kenpom's system at the end of the year is insignificant.

Ohhh he did say that he thought about it and talked to his family about the move. Steven said that he told him he is stupid if he didn't take the job.
