Scouting umps is just as important to scouting teams. Umps rarely change, so adjust pitch sequence.

I have to believe that Coach calling every pitch from the dugout is a problem with umps like this who have such a tight strike zone .And ,I believe that is one reason that our 1st pitcher was removed ,she was not pitching what was called by Karen.

I would bring Pickens back in and tell her just throw the ball over the plate and do not worry about me calling the pitch .

If I were the Lady Vol coach ,I would stop calling the pitches and tell the pitcher throw it down the middle of the plate .....about knee high and see if a strike can be called.

Yep. Before Picken's last pitch, Karen said (and motioned) "Throw it down the middle." She didn't and she got pulled.
