First off, CONGRATULATIONS! on the SEC regular season championship. Hard fought and well-earned. Very proud of the LVs! Now focus turns to post season. Looks like we get the winner of FL-UK. Would love another win or two for seeding. I’m assuming Ashley in game one. We have got to tighten up base running and defense but the offense imo needs to be timely and more aggressive, a lot of good pitches going by. Runners LOB killed us the last two years, we have to avoid that to advance.

Does Pickens need to make the adjustments or does pitch calling need to be adjusted? In regards to Mesusan, most action she received all year was today, one strikeout of the team total 9. Is Lair or Donihoo able to hit SEC hitting as both had 2 K’s each. If she had as many AB as Taylor, Ahlin and Brockenbrough I’d have a different take. Otherside as I said last week, there’s a reason she’s had limited action.

She has had one hard hit the homer the last two days. Seeing eye singles are not going to beat you if the D is good behind you.

Talked to Karlyn’s mom to tell how much I appreciated her pitching. She says that Karlyn loves it here and is all Vol. Good enough for me.

Well i know you and i have talked about our defense especially on the infield often. I am sold as much as possible on Boo but often she does not stretch like maybe is needed. When you have been watching the most limber first baseman ever Ms. Ashley Morgan hard to compare. Puni has been pretty good in the past but seems to have regressed this year. Hoo plays too deep for her arm and gets out of rythm moving latterly. Lair is pretty good and if he hits a lick which i am not betting the farm. Catcher is a cluster @@@@! Seems to be a great kid going from outfield to catcher and being wrong handed is a tough roe to ho! I give her credit for trying but if our freshman catcher is much good and i dont know she should have played more IMHO! Outfield is more than adaquate ! I am done!

We just kicked the chit outta twelve other enormous universities. Need a night to celebrate!! WOOOOOOO!!!!

I will join Kim Mulkey in pointing out that the conference tournament is a time to simply tweak a few things before big show.

Just use it as a glorified practice. Zero interest in winning that event after this fantastic season.

Puni has had a little bit of a rough stretch but she has been awesome there overall. Donnihoo is there just because of injuries but has played a decent short. Lair is usually solid if she hadn't dropped that short liner we may have won but overall nothing to complain about the same with Boo she has been solid at first. Our real problem and it is really not her fault is catcher. Which may really hurt us in the postseason I had hope that Kirkpatrick would provide better D but that was not the case. We are bad to compound defensive errors and base running errors. Make the routine plays in the infield and we can go a long way.

Hear me out, I know that the defensive struggles have come and gone as the season has progressed, but I think that with the staff that this pitching has and the offensive potential we carry I think that it was nice to have the pressure on the defense when it was the clear that the pitching and offensive were not at the level that we have seen. At the end of the day, this team has beaten a lot of good teams so as much as we would have liked to sweep I think that this is a wake up call to the team that anyone can beat you. I would rather have it happen now than in regionals.

This is spot on because Riley West was a primary catcher during travel ball and was brought in as a catcher and has never really caught other than a handful of games last year and nothing this year. Good observation.
