Everyone’s comments about having an SEC Championship Tournament are right, and it is unfair to our teams, while teams in conferences that do not have a conference championship tournament are resting up for the NCAA Tournament.

Name one P5 conference that doesn’t have a tournament.

Here you go, don’t know what I was thinking, maybe thinking of when a team loses in their tournament, and sits and eventually wins the NCAA, it’s happened in football. Sorry for the misstatement.

She's an awkward fit on that campus. There are a lot of extras at A&M that you have to embrace as a coach there and she's not doing it. Not winning a lot of friends in the administration and in the softball alumni base. Ran off a program legend that ends up landing at (and starring for) Oklahoma. Would rather recruit Arizona than Texas. There's enough WCWS-caliber talent between College Station and Houston to build a monster and she's only giving it a token look. We'll see, but that's just my opinion.

A&M wanted the coach at FSU, when they don't give her the things they promised to get her to stay in Tallahassee, she'll listen the next time A&M calls.

They’re probably thinking of the Pac-12, who only started having a conference tournament this year.

I know a former player from aTm and at least she bought all-in to the LA possibility. I always thought it was a pipe dream for her to leave FSU, and I still do.

aTm is a weird place and I could see a lot of coaches struggling to fit into that culture (with the emphasis on cult), especially a Californian like Ford. I also know one of Ford’s former players and coaches, so I’ll have to see if I can get some scoop. Ford didn’t stay too long at either of her first two stops, so I could see her bolting on her own.

I think LA would have the same type of issues with aTm as anyone. Again, it is a weird place.

As someone who advises on high-level contracts for a living, let me just say that I was stunned that LA stayed in Tallahassee. I thought the ink was dry on that one.

Really?! That is interesting. The former player acted like it was going to get done, but I thought that was just her being hopeful.

I still think LA stays at FSU long term, though. They will give her just enough to keep her. And well they should. One of the best IMO.

Pretty harsh, especially for a kid who was overlooked until Washington and FSU came calling in her recruitment. Like most kids who leave for various reasons , she had to leave for her the person as her and Karen weren’t a good dynamic.
