I think it’s clear they wanted the top 3 homerun hitters in one region. Realistically, se should have gotten Notre Dame over Louisville. For two seeds, Indiana is good, but UCF, Wichita State, Auburn, ULL, Oregon and Baylor are all better.

We got the highest seed in school history, btw. Back in 2007 we got the 5-seed (despite being #1 almost the entire season) due to our RPI. Northwestern was very overseeded that year, too, at #3 while Bama and LSU were punished for low rpi

The selection committee is all BS. ESPN pays the bill so they seed for story lines. Because by seeding the SEC showed stronger than any other conference so why would FSU be in front of Tennessee.

They definitely jumped at the opportunity to do it. Plus geographically it makes sense too.

How was it useful when the head of the committee said they looked mostly at Top 10, Top 25 wins and head to head.

It’s just an index. They use the index to determine top 25 wins, etc. I don’t think they look at top 25 poll wins. Should be just like basketball.
