Tennessee Softball 2023

Vanderbilt does not have the on-campus space to build a softball facility. If they had a program, they would have to play somewhere off-campus, and are apparently not willing to do that.

They are adding volleyball in two years, they have been heavily pressured to add a softball program. I anticipate it will happen at some point, but it is still five years away or more.
That may be what they say but it’s not really true. They own land around their campus that is not in use. The real reason is they don’t want to spend the money. Their athletic budget is rolled into the university’s budget and the athletic “department” is already losing money at the expense of the academic side. They fund things like women’s bowling, which is cheap to operate, to meet the required quota of women athletes.

I'm not sure I'd say Indiana is Florida. Their top pitcher has a lower ERA and higher K/inning numbers than anyone Florida has.

For Louisville, I haven't seen them play, but based on Roby's numbers (ERA, Ks, lack of homers given up) it appears she's a junk pitcher.

And, not for nothing, but both teams bat .319 for the season. We hit .297.

Why did be
I would start Pickens against Northern Kentucky. She can handle it easily. Their leading home run hitter has four (4) homers. Then start Rogers in game two, followed by Gottshall. That should wrap it up, but the whole staff is available if another game is needed. Somebody said IU is Florida, which is sort of true, except IU has no Skyler Wallace to throw a monkey wrench into the works. Looking forward to multiple Boo Bombs, Zaida Zingers, and Kiki Klouts, and a good time shall be had be all :D
I would use her for middle relief, especially if we get off to a nice lead.

Still can't believe Bama got a 5 seed. Even with a perfectly healthy Fouts they were no where near that. Murphy must have called in some chips. He didn't look overly surprised but played it up for the team, Must have gotten a head's up.
Complete and utter BS.

What difference does it make? It's go time, rest up Ashley and Payton any chance you get.
Difference is somehow you attached my post to whatever you stated. I said it should be over in five, my opinion wasn’t for or against anyone pitching or not pitching.

We found out that you can have a number 12 rpi and a 22 strength of schedule and finish fifth in your league with 10 SEC losses and get a five seed. I wonder what Stanford, Okla State, Duke, and LSU think about this since they had better records and better rpis and most have better strength of schedule.
This is the most blatant seeding I have ever seen. All it tells me is I don't have to look at the data anymore this was like drawing names out of a box.

Actually we found out that crimson turds can have those things not folks like Lvs!

Let me say I think we got a very fair seed. FSU has a much better body of work the last few years and they have a stud pitcher, but it is pretty close. The whole softball world other than Bama fans and ESPN have no idea how they got ranked that high. (Players included if you watched the reactions)
The seed was fair but how we get Indiana and Louisville while number five Bama gets Central Arkansas and Middle Tennessee? Maybe Central Arkansas is better than both of them don't think Middle is guess we'll find out.

Glad we didn't get Mtsu they always seem to wind up hurting our players. Our opponents i would chalk up to the BAMA bracket force field pushing other good teams into other brackets. It is very powerful!

They wanted the top three homerun hitters in the country in one regional. Realistically, we should've gotten Notre Dame with Louisville going to Fayetteville instead of the other way around. We seem to get ACC teams a lot. VT, NC State, UVA, GT, UNC, Louisville when they were in the Big East. James Madison has come here several times, too. We've had VT our regional countless times through the years (including the year when they won the regional with Angela Tincher pitching), so I'm lowkey surprised we didn't get them.

I don't care, but Alabama getting #5 is beyond belief. Last time I checked Bama was just hoping to get a seed, 15 or 16 maybe.
Absolutely no metric points to Alabama being higher than about a 12 seed. Utterly ridiculous. Auburn should be especially pi$$ed. Their resume is better than Alabama's by every metric. They're unseeded.
