Tennessee Softball 2023

I just am not interested in watching OU win the championship. I decided not to watch any of the finals until Florida State won at least one game. Looks like I won’t be watching any of the finals. Not that anyone cares but I do wonder how ratings will be.

The commentators are more annoying than usual.
Thas is not possible. They were so awful in the semi-finals I turned the sound down. Must everything have a heart-tugging backstory? Must they show replays of the same home run half a dozen times? Must everything be monumental? There are better announcers out there.

Personally, I couldn't care any less about how an opponent celebrates, in any sport, as long nobody is rushing up on anyone and being aggressive in away that seems like a personal physical attack. That bothers me.

What these players are doing is a bit much, but harmless IMO. Only thing the NCAA needs to keep an eye on in softball and baseball is when they flip/slam/toss bats particularly forcefully, because that could go wrong at some point and someone could get hurt.

Never have watched any of the announcers for softball or even baseball.

Kregman, I'd actually be fine with relaxing the rules on pitchers. Let them get velocity and accuracy pretty much however they can. Of course there would be allowed only the one forward move -- no "running starts" lol -- but I'd be okay with them leaving their feet and landing however they need to land.

BUT, the distance between the plate would need to be increased quite a bit to even it out.

I know from experience that throwing the ball underhanded while trying to get some speed on it makes it very, very difficult to not leave the ground. Obviously it can be done, but it definitely cuts down on how effective a pitcher can be.

Just give hitters more space to see the balls that will definitely be coming in faster. Let 'em THOW DAT TATER! 😲

The funny thing is they have not called leaping etc. this year. That's fine but then don't call it on other pitchers all of a sudden and turn a blind eye to others who are obviously doing it.
The two pitchers in question are drastically different, I’ve stated all along Bahls saving grace is her toe down and dragging. Reid was elevated with no attempt of her toe down. Here’s a few others…illegal pitches is more common than many want to admit including our own.

My biggest issue with Bahl is she lands and pushes off again. With the side shot there is very little toe dragging too. Most pitchers you are right are in someway illegal just call it both ways. The Fsu coach was exactly right when she said it had not been called all year.

Why did FSU not start Sandercock? Is/was the only hope they have and as far as we know she is healthy. Much bigger question than not starting Ashley on Saturday.

I wonder if the trend continues if the SEC crowds unleash on them if they will be so unapologetic. They want to act like our baseball team last year knowing they face no repercussions from that because the softball culture is different at present (which it should be). Be careful what you change.

If crowds turn on them and become hostile over their behavior, Patty Gasso will be the first one talking to the press about how out of control the fans have become.
