Tennessee Softball 2023

I wish kids making these decisions could fast-forward their lives 25 years and live in that time a few hours to see if making these decisions over a goofy boy was something they were still glad they did.

Ugh. Oh well.
What does she have to prove? Could be she cares for her state the way Rogers cares for Tennessee and wants to wear Nebraska across her chest. Two national championships and a chance to revitalize her state school.

Maybe their in love😏😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Yeah, just about everyone that age thinks they've found the end-all, be-all partner for life, and they cannot WAIT to get married and be together Every. Single. Day. for the rest of their lives. Oooooo-WEEEEEEE! That feels so crazy good.

Until a few years later when all they want to do is run away. Except they've got several kids, too many financial obligations, a job they hate but can't quit. Sweetie-pie ain't lookin' so yummy anymore.

lol

"Love" can wait. Enjoy the opportunities that only come in youth first! 😃

Could it be this is the opportunity she wants…end of the day it is her life to live. She won’t fade away her legacy is forever. If anything it adds to her story if she can turn them into a contender.

It very well could be and, yes, of course it's her life to live and her decisions to make.

I was really more speaking generally after thinking back about having heard, over the years, about several kids who transferred for young love. With divorce rates as high as they are in this century, and as quickly as a lot of people are to make the decision to split, it just seems like it would be the wiser choice in most instances to resist making such huge decisions that affect the future when you are 18-22 years old. But, obviously, older folks like me have the benefit of hindsight. It looks simple from here. lol

Congratulations! Couples like you and yours are rare birds these days. Well done!
You are so right everybody wants to do their own thing now! I know a young lady that had a scholarship to play for the Lady Vols softball several years ago. A 4.0 Valedictorian had signed early and in her senior year met a young man ( a nephew of mine) fell head over hills and went to UT for the freshman orientation and come back home and gave up her life long dream. To cut it short she went to the same university he went too and they made it a year and a half . He is getting married in Sept and she running with someone else!!!

May be right i do not know but i went down a similar road and now been hitched 50 + years!
Same. I was homesick in general and hated the school itself. Gave up a softball scholarship, moved home my sophomore year and walked on at our school, and have been married to my then-boyfriend for 10 years now. It does work out sometimes. But I know it’s rare.

It would be more concerning to move somewhere other than home for the boyfriend. He’s at Nebraska and if it doesn’t work out it sounds like she wants to be home anyway and she would be. Like others have said honestly, she’s won about every award you can and going to Nebraska would put her in an even better position to win POY. Similar to Cagle she’d be able to stand out more and hit. Like people say is it the best person on the best team or is it the most valuable player for a team? She’ll have been both by the time she’s done it seems. Hopefully she doesn’t take Nugent with her she would be a great addition on Rocky Top…

Someone sounds a wee bit jaded….

Yes, it’s not like she is quitting school or softball altogether…that would be a terrible decision.

It’s also not like there is an attractive professional softball option after college. The smartest of these athletes, no matter how good they are, plan for life after softball ends in college.

no complaints here. playing the game at a high level as well as balancing life takes a toll that not all fans realize. Being at the top can be as lonely as being a walk-on who nobody knows your name.
Just kidding she has every right to do what she wants and how many trophies does one need. If she can carry Nebraska that’s great if not I’m sure they will be be thrilled with where she can take them. My question will be now that she out from under the Oklahoma umbrella of protection will the umps call her for illegal pitching more?
