Tennessee Softball 2023

Recent recruiting rumor. I thought I seen someone on here mention Ana Roman is one of the best 2025 in the country. I was told this week that TN is in her top 4 because of her ties to Pannell. Another 2025 rumor is Linton has TN as her front runner. Haven’t seen her pitch but I was told very comparable to Pickens a lot of potential but never transferred into a dominant pitcher at any level
I would be very surprised if Ana ended up here. Don’t want to say it’s impossible but with her connections to FSU my early money is there followed by Florida because of proximity. Linton should have us as her top school. I’ve seen her pitch many times and to me she’s tapped out and the numbers aren’t close to the hype. She’s never been the #1 on her travel team and her numbers in low level high school ball is questionable. Tennessee is infatuated with her because of the travel organization and the hype. Solid overall utility ball player but not sure they go after her as a pitcher. I’d say it’s us and Ark.

From a high school statistical viewpoint I would say Allanah is better, but we'll see what happens next season.

I'll be curious to see the Leach sisters. Aubrey Leach was one of my favorite UT players ever--arguably the best leadoff hitter in America for a couple of years. It was painful that neither she, Gregg or Vines never got to a championship series--two legit AA's in the infield.

Sounds like the type of player to come here, stay here for two years and barely play, and then transfer to a mid major.

She’s a solid overall player. But she’s not a SEC pitcher and if she’s not pitching she’s not playing the field over other players. But agree, she could play at a mid-major MTSU (close to home), UTC etc and have a nice career and play early, just not sure that would be an option for her or dad. Injury prone over the years can’t be overlooked.

Type of player that people complain if the staff doesn’t take, then ask once a week why they are not playing here, then criticize the staff when they transfer somewhere else.

Mid tier in-state players are a nightmare for coaches in any sport. If you don’t take them, it breaks relationships with travel/AAU/high schools. If you do take them and they don’t play, people criticize in those relationships may still end up broken. If you only half heartedly recruit them and they go somewhere else, People criticize you for not going after them harder. I certainly don’t blame the staff for letting in-state kids live out their dream by taking them, but it’s also a no-win situation unless they are a sure fire star.

Similar to my thoughts. Can’t imagine being a mid tier HS athlete, having my talent, skills and academic record being mulled by an enthusiastic D1 fanbase. I guess that’s our new world.

And it's about damn time. 🥎😎
Softball, it might be a niche sport, but it is growing. Internet is wonderful.
We had a T1 connection to the internet,(MCI no less 1.5Mb), It would handle all of the connections fully no problem everybody had real slow modems, now my house has 1Gigabyte.

I think the timer starts when he first picked up the cube, study all you want then blind fold now until he finishes. Oh 5x5x5 cube WOW!!

You’re crazy. 😀 Will watch this video and the learning video this week, did try tonight for a couple of hours on my own, and it looked like I was making progress, but I really wasn’t. Got all one side white, but not the others. Will let you know if I get it done after following the video. 🙂

Marty McDaniel named HC of Roane State. I knew he was wanting to get back to the state but didn’t think he’d go this route. He wanted the ETSU job but timing and them dragging their feet. If things continue to go south, I could see him take a run at Tennessee Tech, which to me is an ideal job. Close to family, can recruit the state and win in the OVC quickly. Use his connections to get quality tier two kids from west coast area.

Looking in the rearview mirror, HSC Weekly might should have signed pitcher Rylan Smith (Nolensville, TN), who is now a freshman at WKU and led TN H.S. with 377 K's last season. Any opinions on that ?
